Giving kisses (she licks a lot), playing with her sister Casey, cuddling with me, staring out the window looking for squirrels, but most of all PLAYING FETCH with her ball!!! She would, if allowed, play fetch until she collapsed from sheer exhaustion.
Baths, going outside in the rain, having her nails clipped, when I pay attention to her sister or anyone else besides her!
Her tennis ball for inside, and her squeezy ball for outside. She also loves this weird-shaped rubber squeaky toy from Wal-Mart that sounds like an animal crying when it is squeezed. When she was younger, she loved her "food ball" and her stuffed animals
She eats Iams dry food and Science Diet - her sensitive stomach pretty much pukes most other things up.
Anywhere. She loves seeing new things and meeting new people!
She knows the commands "Sit", "Shake hands", "Lay", "Eat your food", "Go night night". She also recognizes phrases and knows what "In a minute" means, as well as "granny and granddaddy's", "bye bye", "go potty", "outside", and many more!
My ex-boyfriend and I picked this dog out together! I had always wanted to wake up Christmas morning and my present be a little puppy's head sticking out of a stocking! But, that never happened.
:( So when I got my first "nice" apartment and well-paying job as a young adult, I decided to go and get one myself!
I picked Kayla out at our local SPCA at the beginning of January of 2000. She was in a litter with many other puppies. I saw her and just knew right away that she was meant for me. She had the most beautiful coloring that set her aside from the others...a silver nose and beautiful light gray eyes.
I took her out into their play area and fell in love with her personality. It took me 3 tries to get this dog...the SPCA was very picky about who they adopted to! I was terrified she would be given to someone else, but I did everything in my power to get her and I finally did.
I took her to work with me that day, and on the way, I looked over at her in the seat next to me, and her name just came to my head.
Although I am no longer with the boyfriend, Kayla remains the best thing to come out of that relationship! :)
The rest is history.
Kayla is my soulmate as a dog.
She has the most personality of any dog I've ever seen. Her facial expressions are as telling as that of any human's.
She is so attentive; she listens to everything someone says, cocking her head and moving her ears accordingly. She is very vocal, and she tries to "talk" by making noises that almost sound like words! She tries very hard to communicate with us vocally!
She gets so excited when I come home (or when new people come in) that she pees on the floor. She has learned to try to control it, but just can't. :) We call it her "pee face": she puts her ears down, tries to "talk" to us, and walks around funny with a sheepish look on her face, trying not to pee.
She loves to bark (way too much). :)
She is very agile and can do twists, turns, and jumps that are amazing.
She is a beautiful dog, and has such a free spirit and sense of love about her. I love her. :)
