A $4.4 Million Hotel for Pets
Later this month, Fort Worth, Texas, will have a new place where pampered dogs and cats will be able to lounge in the lap of luxury. At Spa Paws Hotel, owners can pay as much as $200 a night so their pets can sleep with chenille and satin blankets while watching 18-inch flat-screen TVs. The most expensive suites overlook an atrium that includes robotic squirrels. But the 20,00-square-foot complex isn't just for fun and games. It will also include a wellness center, where dogs and cats "can heal their bodies and minds via Eastern medicine," reports the Wall Street Journal. The hotel is the latest example of the growing interest in providing luxury pet services. "In this industry, nothing is really too outrageous anymore," one insider said.
An' we r worf it, wite, pupses?????
You and Austin better be making your reservations now!
Take lots of pictures!
wow...I want to go there, cause maybe it will help with my knee...BOL
There should be more pup hotels! We sure are worth it!
I actually find that is awful as other wastes of money. Think how many Shelters could be helped with a quarter of that.
It totally needless .... and I hate humans who behave the same. it is just dollar signs to the company.. they dont give a toss about anything but their bank accounts.
I have very mixed feelings about those places, too.
We love and pamper our pets, (sort of), at home, give them proper vet care and yes even alternative care if that is warranted, but OMD! My pawrents haven't even ever stayed one night in a peeps place like that! And in this economy?
Where do the customers get the $ to even think about sending a pet there...
I am pawfectly happy to live in my humble den, because I get all the foods, treats and toys that I need, not to mention love and attention!
I don't know guys, it sounds a lot better than the hoosegow-- aka the vet's kennel--that Momma and Daddy have sent me twice.... I could really get into some massage therapy... Think they have a belly rub special?
I agree with what everyone is saying. Yes, I believe we are worth it and I'm sure our pawrents do too. I agree that the money used could support lots of shelters instead of making a hotel that only few "elite" dogs will be able to go to. I myself have never stayed at a hotel costing half of that (without someone else helping pay for it.) I was raised in a military family without a lot of money. So, therefore into my adulthood I followed in my parents footsteps. (We went camping at the coast, and back then, it was free. Keep in mind this was over 45 years ago.) I know there are a lot of peeps who wouldn't blink an eye at spending this kind of money for their pups. Mine are like my kids too, but still its an excessive amount for a dog hotel.
BOL! Yeah, I think you should request this instead of the vet Finn!!
Everything's bigger and better in Texas!!!
what's really funny, is i love luxury like the next girl..but give me dirty, smelly and tattered and i am in hog heaven! BOL!
I jus wants to be wif my mama. All the fancy stuffs is good but only if my mama is dere too. I don' want other peeples bovverin me.
The squirrel thing would have me ready for the CRAZY BIN, but it would be fun GOING CRAZY that way!
I'm with Bear...Just give me my family, and I am happy. The location or the special extra stuff just doesn't matter.
Well, maybe one REAL squirrel...
Doo it would be fun to go there maybe they will have some kind of contest and you and Austin could win it and visit!
I think that instead of putting our "kids" in kennels and vets that would be a much better place if you could afford it. It said as much as $200 so maybe they have rooms that are more affordable???? If your going to spend the money anyway when your away it would be nice to make it the best for our "kids". We dont let our mom and dad leave us, they never go anywhere because they cant stand to leave us.hehehe
Maybe if the parents could stay with the dogs and make it a vacation that would be fun.
Woof Woof, Molly
Sounds like a very nice place but for $200 hundred a night!! Wow that is an awful lot of dog cookies!! I like it better when Mom finds a pet friendly hotel and we can all stay together and it is a lot less than that cost.
I know Wy, that's what mom was saying. SHE'S never stayed in a hotel that expensive, so we know we won't get to. And Molly, Saphira and Bear that's how mom is...she doesn't like to go anywhere and be away from us. She went to that cat show last month and worried about us the whole time. (And that was just 3 hours away in Waco and for only 1 night!) Can you imagine if she had to be gone longer. OMD! BOL (When mom was in Hawaii with her sister in 2001, she called every other night to see how her pups were doing.) (Does it sound like mom has NO life? BOL BOL BOL)
