Missing, Royal Member of the Day Thread

I know that I am not alone in having one or more missing group threads, but losing our Royal Member of the Day thread in PDPC really is upsetting. This thread was started in the summer of 2008 and as far as I can remember, someone has been made Royal Member of the Day every day since. Buttercup and I have always made sure that we have never missed honoring a different member every day of the year.

I do not know how many posts this thread had but it was huge and represented work and dedication. I know other furs have lost threads that were very important to them and their groups too. I hope that HQ can retrieve these threads for us. We would be very grateful.

This seems to be happening in a lot of groups. We are all hoping HQ gets back to us soon about this.

Bailey, so sorry to hear about losing your thread. That's awful, especially since it's been a long-running thread. We lost one, too, at The Canine Lounge but it was a new game and I just started it again on another thread. Hope your thread is returned soon! Darn those fleas!

Sadly... many threads wont be able to be retrieved. Many that meant much to people...this is the reason.. this is what happened(and really.. it took have been a great deal worse... THANKYOU Clifford at HQ for dong all you could to save what you could). This wasnt site fleas.. this was potentially site wipe out from a Spambot attack.

The OOOooPs Team had to do a roll back in the database. The missing threads are located in the midst of the database which was overwhelmed by spam. So basically those threads ended up becoming colateral damage in that they can't be retrieved without also retrieving the spam. Yet another reason to not like spammers.

Individual groups may not have been affected exactly the same. Some groups reported missing topics that have since returned, other topics have remained missing. Totally unfair, but really a luck of the draw kind of thing. Again, they should contact Dogster Support to be sure.

When we lose the visual and verbal memories.. we look for the reminders... and when they are gone too... its a tough place to be.

This site.. this COMMUNITY is a very special place and very special people.

Those of you who know me.. even... for their sins... HQ peeps !!) know I do not like or agree with the path saymedia have taken this site... THAT SAID.... but for saymedia (think on.. you normally see me misspell that on purpose :))! )

We STILL have a site... still HAVE a Community( I am NOT on the faceless place). We still make lifelong friends of people we will never meet (just like paper pen-pals did) and we still CARE about each other.. our families and our Furs.

We will repair and restore with our hearts and voices.

We do that well... we rise from the ashes...

While I miss my thread for sentimental reasons, I have already started a new thread and hope to establish new memories. Life goes on and we do too. I hope that HQ does answer my email that I sent them but we will just go forward and not worry about things that we can't control.

Well said, Flicka and Bailey! I also have a thread that's precious to me. Fortunately, it hasn't been lost. But if that happens, it's good to remember that it's not the end of the world.
