On April 8th, 2007, my one and only sister left with her new family. I cried as they drove away, this just seems so weird, some of my brothers were with new people too. It all just made me sad. Mom explained that they had gone to their forever homes and they would be well cared for and loved just like I would be when my forever parents picked me up. Boy, life can be tough for a puppy!

Strangers in our home!

One everning (March 20th, 2007, to be exact) all us pups had just had dinner and with full tummys we grouped up in little piles of sleeping puppies. I heard Mom's human, Jasmine's voice as she came up the stairs. There were 2 strange voices that I had never heard talking with her. Jasmine was telling the strangers that Raven (my Mom) only had 2 girls, 1 black and one golden as she was picking up puppies looking for us 2's hard to tell just looking at a puppy's face! She found my sister first and heard the strangers saying how cute she was. Then Jasmine found me and the lady handed my sister to her husband so she could hold me. She cuddled me in her arms and I could her her heart beating. Funny, it felt good to be in her arms and I felt safe. Then I heard the words, "I want her, she is exactly what we have been looking for." The man put my sister down and held me, "yup, she's the one." The lady held me for a little while longer and then Jasmine put me down with the same little pile of puppies that I had been sleeping with. But I didn't lay down to sleep with them, I walked away from them, turned, and barked at the whole litter "I'm pick of the litter, did you guys here? I'm pick of the litter!" Jasmine and the two strangers left the room. I was so proud to be pick of the litter, but Mom came and told me that I needed to be a more humble puppy. All of her pups were special and I didn't need to be hurting anyone feelings with my bragging. O.K. I wouldn't talk about it, but in my heart, I knew I WAS THE PICK OF THE LITTER!!! Late that night, I went to Mom and asked "are these the people who need me?" "Yes" she said "these are the ones". "Why would they need me?' "I don't know, but they do, you are to go and live with them and they will love you and take good care of you." "But, I don't want to leave you and the family, I want to stay here!" "Don't worry, you will see that this is best, don't fret now go back to sleep." I fell back to sleep wondering how on earth could this be the best for me.

"Hello...anybody out there?"

I was born on February 22nd, 2007. My Mom's name is Raven (she's a beautiful black Standard Poodle) and Dad's name is Brutus (he is a very handsome Golden Retriever). I have 1 sister who is black like Mom (we were the only 2 girls) and I have 9 brothers, some who are black and some who are golden (like me).

When puppies are born their eyes are shut so I couldn't see Mom but I could smell her sweet, warm breath and I could feel her love as she gently cared for me. Life was simple, except for the 9 brothers thing, and all I concerned myself with was eating, sleeping and being with Mom. As my eyes started to open I realized that the world was a very big place and full of adventure.

Mom's human, Jasmine, helped Mom take care of all of us...not an easy thing to do with so many us! Puppies are eating and pooping machines! I liked Jasmine and her family and would have been content to live out my life right were I was.

One day Mom started explaining to us pups, that we were not going to live at Jasmine's home forever (exept my brother Chewy). That worried me a little, I couldn't imagine being with anyone else at their home, but Mom told me that there was someone out there who needed Yes you, she said. You were created to bring joy into someone's life. Who, I asked, who is this person who needs me? I don't know, but God knows and He will make it happen at just the right time. O.K, but this seems like far too big of a job for 1 tiny puppy, but Mom said it would all be fine.
