Thanks to all my pup pals out there who supported me during this difficult time. I am getting better every day!!! I can use my back legs almost perfectly now but I still have to take it easy (which isn't easy for terriers let me tell you). Anyways, I still am a bit afraid of the stairs and now that it's icy and snowy here in Chicago I don't like to go outside much cuz I'm afraid of slipping but mommy and daddy are troopers they take me outside no matter how cold it is and stay right by my side. I am back to a normal diet and stuff!!! I still stay in my cage during the day while they work so I don't overdo it. It has actually become like a second home to me now I must admit.
I know that mommy and I could not have pulled through without all the love and support of our pals here on Dogster and Catster. We are indebted to you all forever and you will all be in our hearts.
Happy Holidays and don't ever hesitate to ask us if you need anything!!! Anything at all.
Hello everyone. The intravertebral disc disease finally caught up with me. I had another bad episode about 2 weeks ago and as usual the vet and mommy and daddy got me through it.
Saturday there was this dude walking by MY house so I decided to go out in the yard and give him a piece of my mind and that was it. I was hobbling back to the house. Daddy picked me up and brought me inside to rest. Then a couple hours later I lost control of my back legs and I couldn't walk. Mommy rushed me to the ER and they said that we should go to the surgical center. Mommy brought me home to see how the cortisone shot would help but it didn't. So I woke mommy up at 2:30 AM on Sunday and we boogied on up to the place.
I had my MRI this morning and I have a herniated disc. So they did surgery. Anyways, they said I did really well. It was pretty bad. They told mommy that there was fluid from the disc leaking into the spinal column. They expect me to make a full recovery though after about 6 weeks of recovery.
I want to thank all my special pals and their humans for thinking of me and being supportive of me and mommy and daddy. Mommy hasn't slept in like 3 days so she's been a wreck. I get to come home Wednesday so we will keep you all posted.
Again, thanks for the kind words and rosettes and stuff.
I am having another flare up in my back. This one has lasted over a week and is not getting better. So daddy took me to the vet today and I had to get a corisone shot right in my back. Ouchie!!!!! I took it pretty good and only cried a little bit. I sure hope it helps though all the squirrels are getting away cuz I can't chase them.
Anyways, if I am not better by Monday they are going to do another x-ray to see if the Intravertebral Disc Disease has progressed.
