I'm undone! I'm completely smitten! My handsome houndy-furend's name is Santana Palato and he lives in the land of perpetual Spring-time, Colorado! My beau has bee-u-tee-ful eyes and they are only for me, me, me! We have much in common ~ lots of freckles on ouah bellies and noses ~ and we love, nay, we adore chewing socks! My "pantsy-wantsy" ahrrroooosss to me and sings love ballads gallore! (Making my lil' ole heart go pittuh-pattah at a right smart clip!)

Foah Christmas, he sent me a package filled with gifts! To my surprise and uttah delight, I was presented with a silvah ornament (which was immediately placed on ouah tree where I could gaze at it a'shinin' in the lights!) It is dazzlin' -- it says things like "Santana hearts Lilah," "Sharing and Caring Together," and "Love is in the Air"! O be still, my heart!

That wasn't all! Oh no! He sent necklaces!! Such treasures! I was moved beyond measuah! (What a grand and gracious gestuah he made! He remembahed my sistah too ~ and if my heart didn't already belong to him, it would've aftah that!) My necklace has my name on it, with hearts betwixt each lettah, and it's made of beads in collahs of hot and light pinks, purple and turquoise! Simply gorge-us! Daisy's necklace has her name (without the hearts) and is made of beads in tones of light pink, white, green and purple. Oh, the way they catch the light as we recline on ouah respective sofas! Why, we're fairly swoonin' with delight!

(I must tell you, I look lovely covahed with jewels and sparklies. Yes, indeed, I look mavahlous!)

Snootahs to my snookum's, Santana!
Lilah

PS ~ Shhh.... I'm sending my beau a package in the U.S. Mail this week. Wonder if he'll tell ya'll what's in it?

Howdy! Hey there! and a Great Big Hellooooooo from lil' ole me in Carolina! I do hope you all are enjoyin' the bee-u-tee-ful weather and warmer temperatures we have been experiencin' lately! My deah sissy and I are makin' good use of our doggy-deck...sunnin' our freckles and a-wavin' at the neighbors (a big ole Pit Bull named Spanky, two muscular, he-man English Mastiffs and a young and dashin' black Lab!) We've been sippin' our evenin' refreshments, gnawin' some delicious hambones and lettin' our ears flap in the breeze as we recline in total comfort. We are so blessed...we live a truly charmed 'dawg's life!' Come on over and set a spell if'n you're strollin' by...

New Year's 2005

My sister, Daisy, and I just finished celebrating our 7 month birthday, our first Christmas and New Year's...all right in a row! Boy, am I about to pop from all the yummy tweets and goodies. Everyone thought we were as cute as speckled pups...oh, yeah, we are speckled pups! Hee! Hee! Well, anyway...we received lots of pwesents including new collars and leashes ~ in matching patterns ~ so we can walk our two-leggers, charms for our lovely collars (so folk'll know we require lots of pats and belly rubs), rawhide chewies, bully bones, greenies, t-bones, Kongs with liver paste and some homemade tweets from our friend, Marion (they was so good my tongue just about slapped my eyeballs out!). We probably got more stuff than our two-legger boy did and he's spoiled plum rotten! Heck, even our grandma's c@t sent us some chewies. Now wasn't that nice...for a c-@-t!

Mommy and Sissy say I must be gracious as behooves my Southern gentility, but I jes love being the center of attention! I simply cannot wait until the next adoration session...er...holiday. Do I get stuff for Ground Hog Day? I eat like a hog, so surely that counts for something, don't you think? It's just a few pages away on the calendar, so we'll see...

Our new doggy deck!

My sissy, Daisy, and I are true Southern belles. We reside inside the "main house" with our Drool slaves and our boy. We have lots of toys, wonderful treats and lots of belly rubs...did I mention treats? Anyhow, I digress. There are times when we girls need to sun ourselves ~ to see and be seen by the neighbors one might say. Daisy and I agree that it becomes a real problem when we must actually walk over grass or, heaven forbid, dirt in order to get to our favorite spot in the shade. Therefore, Sissy and I put our heads together and requested our people pawchase a new doggy deck, one low to the ground so we could recline and look our best. Being the excellent slaves they are, they immediately complied and even lifted us upon it. Well, the nice deck made the old shelters look quite shabby which, of course, would never do! Daisy and I rared back and gave our best howls for a new XL Dogloo (so we could cuddle together). Well, the Drool slaves ran right out and came home with a bee-u-tee-ful Dogloo. It is a lovely shade of white (so crisp and clean, don't you think?) with a vented roof and orthopaedic pad for our extremely delicate posteriors. They are simply too good to us! If you're ever in the neighborhood and the weather's good, visit our new "summer house." We'll sit on the deck and sip mint juleps in the waning sunlight as it glistens on our beautiful tri-colored coats. Ah, a lovely respite from an otherwise hectic day. Hey! Wait just a doggone minute! We're Basset Hounds...our days are never hectic. Hee! Hee! Hee!
