Arrival Story:
She was taken to a petstore to be sold by the breeder. I work at the vet hospital responsible for providing the petshop health certificates. Upon initial examination, the doctor felt that she had a grade 4 luxating patella(permanently dislocated knee cap). The breeder insisted that there was nothing wrong with the dog and said the petstore was lucky to have such a great puppy-she wanted her back so that she could use her later as a breeding dog!!! We took x-rays of the puppy's knees to confirm the problem but our x-ray processor was down. So she stayed at our hospital for a few days until it was fixed. She never messed in her cage and when i took her outside, she immediatley went potty. No hunting for the "perfect" spot :) I already loved Shibas and she was just amazing to me. So I asked the petstore if i could take her off their hands. They insisted that i pay what they paid ($300) or they were going to send her back to the breeder..AKA puppy mill. I couldn't fathom the thought of her going back, the breeder seeing that she was useless to her, and euthanizing her.....so, I paid the adoption fee. She eventually got the surgery but it was much worse when she was opened up. Her leg was broken, showed no signs of healing, and her knee cap was dislocated. The surgeon said it would be better to just amputate the leg, so i agreed. She handled everything so well, not one cry. Always happy and seemingly grateful :) She is the BEST dog i have ever had in my life and we just love her to pieces.

So today I went to work with one of my moms. She works at the vet. The same hospital that I got vaccinated, spayed, x-rayed, and my rear leg amputated!! But I don't mind. I love being able to go to work with my mama :) She lets me play with Isis, the kitty that lives there. Isis never wants to play with me though.....wonder why?? Anyway, she got off work and picked up my other mama next door. Then we came home and she made me this website so i can meet other puppies just like me!!! They love me! I knew it!
