Arrival Story: One dog apparently was not enough. By the time Kuma was 9 months we realized that she needed a friend. Who doesn't right? My roommate and best friend has always been a lover of Schnauzers. Her parents had lost their minature schnauzer a few years earlier and were finally ready for a new one. The breeder they found also had one litter of Giants. Ravan picked my roommate. So, the week after Christmas we brought her home. We were in a townhome and I wasn't too excited about the small space and yard with two large dogs but I fell in love with her pretty quickly. She is a "velcro" dog and loves to be with us. When I'm downstairs and my roommate is upstairs she will bounce back and forth between the two of us to make sure everyone is ok. She will even take turns bringing the ball upstairs and downstairs so everyone can participate in her ever constant game of fetch. She loves to be loved and attention is enough to get her to obey when asked to do something. She could take or leave strangers (unless they throw the ball for her and they become the new best friend). She just needs to make sure her family is close and she is happy. She is not unfriendly but I would consider her a little bit reserved. She warms up pretty quickly and enjoys the attention anyone will give her. She's great with other dogs and feels they are all friends which we have to be really careful about because not all dogs are friendly. She will chase anything that moves though - bird, mouse, cat you name it. She's a lot of fun and we know our family is complete now that she's with us. We love our little Giant.
