Today, while Mom & I were walking, some man pulled over to ask Mom about me. Last week, the man's beloved Cairn died, and his family was so sad they didn't know what to do. Mom told him about my breeder, then told him about Colonel Potter Cairn Rescue. At that point, another neighbor came along and wanted to know more about Colonel Potter. Perhaps due to my unbridled friendliness, my neighborhood might get some more Cairn puppies! Yippee! I would love some new playmates. I hope I have good news to share soon about my new terrier buddies.

Who's a Good Dog?

My Mom is fascinated with the way Geordie has learned to nod his head "Yes" to let you know what he wants. So, she sneaked off with him and taught him to nod whenever anyone asks, "Are you a good boy?" It is funny because, whenever somebody meets a dog, he/she says: "Hi Puppy! Are you a good dog?" You should see the freaked responses we get when Geordie gives a big nod to that question! "Oh my gosh! Did you see that?!? He said 'Yes!'" (They don't seem to realize that we taught it to him as a trick!)

Please be kind to my little diary entry. Mommy has a weird hobby; she is teaching herself Chinese. To practice, she wrote this poem about me:

Two years ago,
I was alone.
I had no one to romp with
Or play in the snow.
Then one day I met
This little brown 狗, gou (dog)
現在他是我最å 09;旳朋友!

xianzai to shi wo zuihaode pengyou!
(now he's my best friend)

OK, let's all laugh at how stupid my Mom is...

In my last entry, I told you about her not fitting into her fat pants, so she started walking a little more each day. What dopey Mom didn't realize is that the reason the pants don't fit is that she is more muscular, not fatter. Ha, ha! All that extra walking is only making the problem worse, not better. Geez, have you ever heard of a bigger ninny?

It's Not Fair!

Over the weekend, Mommy tried on her "Fat Pants" (whatever that means), and couldn't even zip them up. Now she's making me walk 15 min. more each day. It's not fair that I have to suffer because she can't say "No" to more dinner. She has no problem telling me "No" when I try to help her eat it. "NO, Geordie, get off the chair!" "NO, Geordie, you can't have my chicken!" You'd think she would be able to see that I'm trying to help her!

Mommy's Note: "It's Not Fair". I eat yucky health food, yet I still gain weight. Moo.

Thankful Tag

Sorry we're late. Geordie and have been busy and offline for a week. So, here's out belated Thanksgiving Tag:

Because it’s Thanksgiving time, there is a change to the rules. Each player needs to tell seven special things they are thankful for. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their 7 thankful things. Then choose 7 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play.

1. I'm thankful for the cooler weather, finally!
2. I'm thankful for Sammi, the girl-dog who lives down the street. Woo Hoo!
3. I'm thankful for my many disembowled stuffies.
4. I'm thankful for gravity. It makes finding food on the floor a certainty!
5. I'm thankful for Minty Biscuits.
6. I'm thankful for my many Dogster friends.
7. I'm thankful that my friends and family are all well.

Now, I tag: Roscoe, Danny, Yankee, Ragtime, Sabrina, Sunny and Paquita

New Rally Move!

On our last day of Rally, Geordie had to be his usual colorful self.

The command we learned that day was to have the handler and the dog walk backwards at the same pace. It is usually difficult for a dog to learn this one. Geordie did it the first time...but he walked on his back legs with his arms in the air. The teaching assistant called out, "Is that legal?" The instructor said that there was no rule about how many feet had to be on the floor, just as long as the dog walked backwards.

Geordie is always good for a laugh in school.

Oh Cooper, you are such a hoot!

So, Cooper has tagged me. I must now post seven random facts about myself, then tag seven others who must post seven fun facts about themselves.

1. I don't eat poop for the sake of eating poop. I eat it because it makes
Mommy chase me around, and chase is my favorite game.

2. I don't like to play fetch. I like to play, "I've got this, and you don't!"

3. I know the names of all the other dogs in the neighborhood, and I run to
look out the door if I hear their names.

4. Peanutbutter is my new favorite food.

5. Grandma thinks she is going to surprise me with a toy monkey for
Christmas, but I know where she has it hidden in the closet.

6. I really like little kids and babies.

7. When I'm excited, I make a meowing sound like a cat.

Now I tag:

Jesse James, Ben, Charlie, Tinkerbelle, Tico el Bandito, MacKenzie and
Ms. Sheba

Grandma, The Education Thwarter!

As I'd mentioned in a previous diary entry, I've been teaching Geordie to say "yes" and "no". I was really pleased with his progress, but noticed that he wasn't continuing as nicely as he had started. I found out why. My Mom saw Geordie nodding his head "yes" to different questions that I asked him, and she thought it was so cute that she started asking him things all the time. The problem is, instead of asking him "Do you want...?" questions, where he could answer negative or positive, she would ask him, "Do you love Grandma? Yeah?" "Did you make big poopies? Yeah?". Geordie found that as long as he nodded his head when she did, he got praise and/or a treat. Aaagh! Now I've got to teach my Mom before I can teach the puppy!!

Whoo! Rather like "Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny", or "Supercallifragilisticexpealidocious". (Something good to memorize to sound not-so-stoopid.)

Still, it got me to wondering...do you think our pups can remember Heaven?
