New Fall Schedule

Hey, has anyone seen the new Fall TV lineup? Of course not! It's a bunch of stinkeroos, this season. It is funny that at a time when picture clarity is improving by leaps and bounds, program content is so stinky. The up side is that since TV is so bad, I just turn it off and play with my pup. Geordie gets to play lots of games of chase and be the center of attention of him Mom. If Madison Avenue knew this, I bet they'd try to put ads on puppies.

Well you can have your TV and your nightclubs,
And you can have your drive-in picture show.
I'll stay here with my little dog near
We'll listen to the radio
Biding my time watching Geordie grow.

By the way, if anyone sees this, can you read this word? سلام (It should look like a lowercase "g", sort of a backward "K" and a "w".) Thanks.

Geordie Gets Blessed

The other day, there was The Blessing of the Pets at church, so I took Geordie over. Everyone in the neighborhood knows Geordie, including the priest. As we are walking by, the priest says, "So you are getting Geordie blessed today? That dog doesn't need blessed: he needs an EXORCISM!!!"

In the end, the Holy Water didn't sizzle when it touched the dog, so I guess we're all right!

Whoo! Rather like "Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny", or "Supercallifragilisticexpealidocious". (Something good to memorize to sound not-so-stoopid.)

Still, it got me to wondering...do you think our pups can remember Heaven?

Grandma, The Education Thwarter!

As I'd mentioned in a previous diary entry, I've been teaching Geordie to say "yes" and "no". I was really pleased with his progress, but noticed that he wasn't continuing as nicely as he had started. I found out why. My Mom saw Geordie nodding his head "yes" to different questions that I asked him, and she thought it was so cute that she started asking him things all the time. The problem is, instead of asking him "Do you want...?" questions, where he could answer negative or positive, she would ask him, "Do you love Grandma? Yeah?" "Did you make big poopies? Yeah?". Geordie found that as long as he nodded his head when she did, he got praise and/or a treat. Aaagh! Now I've got to teach my Mom before I can teach the puppy!!

When You Wish Upon A...Arf! Arfarfarf!!!

I was wondering if anyone else's pup does something like this:

When I walk Geordie at night, he insists on searching out a particular star in the night sky, then he barks and barks and barks at it, trying to scare it away like he would a bird.

When he was younger, he would jump up and try to catch the stars. One evening, he was so determined to catch one that he fought me when it came time to go in the house. So, I picked him up and held him on my shoulder. With the other hand, I reached out as if to touch the star. When he saw that it was too far away to reach, even when standing on my shoulder, he sort of deflated. I hated to destroy his dream, but I was afraid he would wake the neighbors.

Oh Cooper, you are such a hoot!

So, Cooper has tagged me. I must now post seven random facts about myself, then tag seven others who must post seven fun facts about themselves.

1. I don't eat poop for the sake of eating poop. I eat it because it makes
Mommy chase me around, and chase is my favorite game.

2. I don't like to play fetch. I like to play, "I've got this, and you don't!"

3. I know the names of all the other dogs in the neighborhood, and I run to
look out the door if I hear their names.

4. Peanutbutter is my new favorite food.

5. Grandma thinks she is going to surprise me with a toy monkey for
Christmas, but I know where she has it hidden in the closet.

6. I really like little kids and babies.

7. When I'm excited, I make a meowing sound like a cat.

Now I tag:

Jesse James, Ben, Charlie, Tinkerbelle, Tico el Bandito, MacKenzie and
Ms. Sheba

Hello All,

Well, I've been tagged. Now I must post seven random facts about myself, then tag seven others to do the same. Whoever is tagged posts the rules on their diary, then notifies their victims...I mean...teammates by rosette or pawmail. Have fun!

1. I have a crush on one of the Angry Spaniels from school.
2. I really like pit bulls.
3. I think I can catch airplanes.
4. If Mommy lays down on the floor, I jump on her stomach as if it were a
trampoline.
5. I know where Grandma hid my Christmas presents!
6. I've recently learned the word "squirrel".
7. If I hear the ice dispenser on the fridge, I come running because I think
one is for me.

Now I tag: Sammi, Duncan, Dottie, Alvin, Fiona, Yankee and Maya.

Hi Friends,

If you don't see Geordie and me for a few days, it is just that we are on a Nerd-Quest. Our computer is acting very strangely, and we have no idea how to fix it on our own. Wish us luck!

See you in a few!

Whew! What I thought would take three days turned out to take two weeks. At the moment, I'm trying to catch up with email and the like, so it may be a while before anyone hears anything from us.

Geordie and I had a great Halloween, and hope everyone else did too.

See you around!
