Nicknames: Ray-Z, Ray-Ray, RZ, Rigga Man, Ray-Dork, Disaster, Experiment 72, Mr. Suave, Pogi, Little Buddy, etc.
Gotcha Date: April 6th 2007
Birthday: April 6th 2005
Likes: Ripping off the eyes of helpless stuffed animals and tricking people into giving me their food. Jade taught me how to make peeps feel sorry for me by giving them THE look. This eventually results in them handing over their most edible prized possessions.
Pet-Peeves: When people don't pet me. I have to take immediate action and start pawing at them. The pawing bugs the person, so they eventually give in. Never give up, never surrender!
Favorite Toy: Mariah's toys are the best because they seem so much more interesting. Those magic cat wands amaze me! And whoever invented catnip mice is pure genius.
Favorite Food: Rotation of Halo, Merrick, Blue, California Natural, and Pinnacle. Also, smoothies, froyo, fruits(mangoes, apples, bananas, etc.), veggies(carrots & green beans) and raw meat. Plus, anything else I can get my paws on. I'm a Beagle, what do you expect?
Favorite Walk: I love going to the park. Basically anywhere where there are people and other animals around.
Best Tricks: I know all the basics and also my lefts from my rights(in both English & Tagalog). I can jump up and spin around like a dancing "ballerina". Plus, I love it when my peeps spin me around on my back, which makes me look like a break dancer.
Arrival Story: Where shall I begin? Well, I was a stray that was picked up by an animal control officer of the Virginia Beach Animal Control Bureau on the night of April 5, 2007. The officer brought me to their shelter where I spent my night. I had no collar, nor a microchip in me, so I only had 5 days at the shelter for someone to reclaim me before I could go up for adoption. It was absolutely terrifying being there, but also sad at the same time seeing all those animals needing a home. The next morning, I saw this lady enter the room, walking up to me instantly. She said, 'Oh wow, I didn't see you here yesterday!' She kneeled down to get a closer look at me and smiled. She then walked away and headed further down the hall. Turns out, she was there the day before and put her name down on a waiting list for a Shiba Inu, so she came back to see if he was reclaimed or not. Lucky thing for me, the Shiba and his sister were picked up by their owners who were looking for them. The lady walked back over to me and I knew she liked Beagles because there were two 10 week old Beagle puppies a few kennels away from me that she kept walking over to. It was me, the older Beagle, versus those two puppies. For some reason, she kept walking back over to me and took some pictures and a video. All of the other dogs around me were very loud and were in super active hyperdrive mode. I was one of the only ones in that section who stayed calm and quiet. I just sat their patiently and wagged my tail, looking oh so cute. She looked up at my kennel number and back down at me. She left the room, went up to the front desk, and asked the lady if she could put her name on a waiting list for 'The Beagle in kennel 72'. Five days later, here I am!
Bio: My main peep originally named me Reagan, but apparently it sounded too feminine for my other peep's taste. They tried to come up with a more masculine name that rhymed with Regan and thought of Raiden. The name Raiden comes from the video game series, Mortal Kombat. I'm the Japanese god, ahem...dog, of thunder and lightning.
