Likes: Going through the trash cans in every room in the middle of the night, ripping off the eyes of helpless stuffed animals, and chewing on expensive things. :)
Pet-Peeves: When Jade takes back the bone that I took from her.
Favorite Toy: Baseballs, fleece rope toy, and Mariah's toys are the best. I think that's why she doesn't like me too much. It's not my fault I like catnip!
Favorite Food: Merrick canned and California Natural Lamb & Rice dry. Plus, anything else that's edible. Hey, I'm a Beagle...what do you expect? I'm a chow hound!
Favorite Walk: Walking around PetSmart and pooping in the store is so much fun!
Best Tricks: I know all the basics, and I know my lefts from my rights now! I can also spin and dance like a "ballerina".
Arrival Story: Where shall I begin? Well, I was a stray that was picked up by an animal control officer of the Virginia Beach Animal Control Bureau on April 5, 2007. The officer brought me to their shelter where I spent my night. I had no collar, nor a microchip in me, so I only had 5 days at the shelter for someone to reclaim me before I could go up for adoption. It was absolutely terrifying being there, but also sad at the same time seeing all those animals needing a home. The next morning, I saw this lady enter the room, walking up to me instantly. She said, 'Oh wow, I didn't see you here yesterday!' She kneeled down to get a closer look at me and smiled. She then walked away and headed further down the hall. Turns out, she was there the day before and put her name down on a waiting list for a Shiba Inu, so she came back to see if he was reclaimed or not. Lucky thing for me, the Shiba and his sister were picked up by their owners who were looking for them. The lady walked back over to me and I knew she wanted a Beagle because there were 2 10 week old Beagle puppies there with me that she kept going over to. It was me, the older Beagle, versus the pups. For some reason, she kept coming over to me and took some pictures and a video. All of the other dogs around me were very loud and were in super active hyperdrive mode. I was one of the only ones in that section who stayed calm and quiet. I just sat their patiently and wagged my tail, looking oh so cute. She looked up at my kennel number and back down at me. She left the room, went up to the front desk, and asked the lady if she could put her name on a waiting list for 'The Beagle in kennel 72'. Five days later, here I am!
Bio: I was named after Raiden from Mortal Combat, the Japanese god of thunder and lightning.
