Well, I thought I would be keeping my site more current, but I also am on Dogbook now too! I will try to be adding more updates here if I can!

Dad and I have been busy working for me to take my CGC certification test, and I pass all 10 requirements my first time! I was a little nervous at first, but once I got used to being around all the other dogs and people, it was kinda fun!

I just got my certification in the mail today!

Next dad and I will find out about the Therapy dog training so I can visit people in the hospital, or a senior home and cheer them up! I would love to do that! I go to the farmer's market in downtown Des Moines every Saturday and get hugs and kisses from so many nice kids, and all kinds of people..I love the attention and I think I make people happy too!

Best to all! Zoey

Time to get back into my diary!

Hi, it's been a long while and a lot of changes! I turned 3 in July 2007, and little Jade will be 3 in April. She and I are best of friends. She feeds me my dinner and I sit until she says "Zoey, Release!"...

Even though I am taller than her, I know she's the boss! We have moved again about a year and a half ago and I love my new yard.
I go to doggie daycare once a week and at a great place and have the best time there!

I'm not a big fan of the winter since I do not have a thick coat (it's a Great Dane thing), so Santa got me a nice new coat, with my name on it! Thanks Santa (see pic).

Well, time for bed...Will write more frequently!
Go Harlequins!

It has been awhile since my mom updated my diary... Mom has been really busy with the new family member, baby girl. She is great and I just love her. I do get jealous sometimes when daddy coo with the baby. I tried to get his attention by bringing him my "twin" and steal his "drawers".

I got stung by a bee or some sort of insect on June 9th. I dunno what it is but my mouth was so swollen that daddy took me to the emergency vet. The vet gave me some steroid shot. When the shot wore off, I started breaking out in hives. Daddy ended up taking me to the vet again. This time, the vet increased the strength and gave my daddy some pills to take home. I am glad that I feel so much the next day. The steroid makes me wanna drink and pee a lot...

Mom and dad took me and the baby to NYC last week to visit grandpa and grandma the next day. I love the car ride. I had a lot of room at the back of the van. Daddy put my fluffy pillow down so that I will be comfortable. I saw the ocean for the very first time. I met my cousin, Maggie, a yellow lab. My two other cousins, both German Shepherds are psychos and mom and dad think it is better not to meet them.

Last night, Zoey was sleeping on her futon as usual. She had a long walk and playing in our backyard. DH and I went downstairs to hang out in the family room. Zoey didn't budge and was still sleeping when we left her up there. All of a sudden, we heard a loud "thump" noise upstairs and were wondering what that noise is? DH quickly ran upstairs to check and found Zoey lying on the floor next to her futon. She fell off the futon while stretching her long legs. I couldn't stop laughing and when DH found her, she was still dazed and confused and didn't move until he started petting her. She wagged her tail and had this look on her face "What the hell just happened?” It was the funniest moment ever!

Oppss!!! We spoke waaaaaayy too soon. We went home last night after work to find out that Zoey had chewed off our bedroom door. She had also chewed my curtains tieback rope that we hang next to the window. Needless to say, she is back into her crate today until she can prove herself again that she is trustworthy and not going to destroy anything else. We probably rushed it a lil. After all, she is only 7 months old.

I went home this afternoon to let Zoey out as usual. When I got home, I realized that her crate door was opened. I panicked and started calling her name and looking for her everywhere. She was upstair in our bedroom lying on her bed. I inspected the whole house to make sure there is no damage, pee or poop anywhere... and I didn't find any!!!

I decided to leave her out since she was being so well-behaved. Zoey's daddy came home later that evening and still didn't find any damage to the house. We are so happy that we can finally leave her out of her crate when we go to work. She is being a very good girl and well deserved the freedom.

Zoey officially turned 7 months old today. She was born on July 12th, 2004. Happy Birthday Zo!!!

Zoey is feeling much better today. She still doesn’t feel like eating this morning but she ate a lil later this morning. She had bad diarrhea, again from the anesthesia. The incision on her belly is still very red and sore. We make sure that she is not moving too much and getting enough rest. Thank God that Zoey is a very mellow puppy to begin with.

Today is a big day for Zoey... She is getting spayed! She is 7 months old and we decided that it is time. We took her to the vet this morning and picked her up around 5pm. She was very groggy and sore from the anesthesia and surgery.

When we picked her up, she vomited a lil bit during the car ride home. It must have been the side effects from the anesthesia. She laid down on her futon as soon as she got home. She slept the entire night and has no appetite at all.

Zoey has been diagnosed with demodex mange. She had this red patch around her neck since she was 4 months old. We asked the vet about it but he said it is probably from the collar. After talking to some danes owner and breeders on DOL, we took her in again to get a skin scraping test done. True enough it is mange mites. We are now treating her with Goodwinol cream and shampoo and hope this clear up soon.

Zoey loves going to daycare. She goes there once a week and she is making a lot of friends there. She is usually very tired at the end of the day. We have 10 inches of snow here and Zoey loves playing in the snow. She loves to dig in those thick snow.

As of today, we have collected twelve of Zoey's baby teeth. I am sure that she had lost more than that but we found 12 of them. She is now sleeping in our room with us and has been a good puppy like she always does. She is looking forward to celebrating her first Christmas with her mom and dad. :)
