The Magical Life of Daisy Mae, corgi extraordinaire

the pool, my nemesis

Today Mom and Dad tried to drown me. Luckily, as this photographic evidence proves, I managed to escape.

I'm the one jumping, and my brother appears to be laughing at me. He, freak that he is, enjoyed the whole pool-swim-drowning thing.

Dad pointed out that all of the photos of Picnic and I in my repertoire are of Picnic in front of me. I swear, it's because Picnic is a ham and a camera hog. He likes to think of himself as a corgi version of Kate Moss. As fat as he's getting, he looks more like a Tyra Banks.

Here are the rules of the game!
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary.

1. I was born in May

2. I flew on an airplane from middle America to Oregon, and was a pet-shop dog.

3. I had three struvite stones removed from my bladder, and after three bouts of Baytril, I still have a urinary infection, so I have to have my urine cultured.

4. My brother, Picnic, and I do not get along at home. If he FRAPs, I growl at him. I also don't like when he gets any sort of love or attention. BUT...when we're out at the park, we're like glue, stuck to each other. We herd dogs together and we even defend each other.

5. My Mom credits me for her new job. She works at the vet where I had my stones removed, and if she never had to take me there for a stone removal, she would never have known about the open job, and never would have applied.

6. This spring, my Mom has brushed me every day, and every day she's been able to brush off three mini-sized corgi clumps of fur. She calls them Daisies 1, 2 and 3. I shed more than my brother, Picnic, though my coat is shorter and wirier.

7. I have an acute fear of feet.

day after the surgery

I got picked up by my Mom and Dad yesterday at 5 pm from the vet. I was groggy and tired, and it was raining (heavily) outside. To some extent, I'm still groggy and tired. I think this might be contagious, because Mom and Dad seem groggy and tired this morning.. Maybe because they stayed up with me all night long, trying to make sure I peed every two hours.

I didn't pee for the greater half of the night, but at around 1 am the cat scared me and Whoosh! I sort of had an accident. I went about three other times after that point, so my parents didn't worry so much after that.

I'm getting this new food--Mom calls it Purina NF--and I love it! Mom mixes in the wet food and the dry food, and it is so, so tasty. I prefer it over what I used to eat. I think my brother might be jealous, because he had his tongue through the baby gate, trying to get at my dish.

I got my three medications this morning.. a chewable antibiotic, a liquid anti-inflammatory/painkiller, and something else.. I don't know what it is for, but the vet said to give it every 12 hours. That one is my least favorite because my Mom and Dad actually push it into the back of my mouth to get me to swallow it.

Mom laughs at my shaved belly. She says it looks really funny. At the vet, we got to take a look at the stones that were in my bladder. Oh boy! They were gigantic! About the size of three large kumquats.. one had broke in half. They were smoothed down, which the doctor said was scary because if these stones are calcium oxilate stones, they normally have very jagged little spikes all over them. We'll find out in two to three weeks just what they are.

I think I feel much better. I know I like when Mom and Dad carry me, like the princess I am.
