Bad week!

I have been having a very bad week. Last Thursday I ran to mommy and wanted to be picked up. Of course, she picked me up and then she noticed that my eye was shut and was watering. It was late in the day, so she called the Emergency Vet. She thought I may have been scratched by one of the kitties, the ER Vet said to use natural tear drops and take me to my regular vet the next day. Well, we made an appointment early in the morning, but then our regular vet had to cancel because her daughter was having a baby (the nerve of her, didn't she know we had an emergency???). They refered us to another vet (which worked out well because this vet specializes in PUGS!). When we FINALLY got to the appointment, the vet told us that our cornea was not scratched, but it had suffered some sort of trauma. She put me on antibiotics and a med to dilate my pupil. Mommy took me back to the vet on Monday and it appeared a little better, but not much, so I stayed on my meds. Mommy took me back again today and my eye doesn't look any better. We are very sad! The vet debrided my eye and gave me a new antibiotic, to hopefully aid in healing, but said that surgery needed to be scheduled for Friday to sew my third eyelid shut so that my eye is better protected. I have to wear a stupid lampshade, but Mommy is upset because no matter what she does I can take it right off. Boy am I glad that my neck is as big as my head!!! She says she is going to find me some goggles--UGH!

So, I am off to surgery on Friday. I am also going to be spayed while I am out like a light. I was suppose to wait until August because of the heat I went through in April, but my new vet thinks that I will be ok. Mommy agrees with the vet that the less times I have to be put under, the better! Needless to say, Mommy is very concerned. I am her lovey, dovey baby and the thought of my discomfort (or WORSE!!!) scares the living daylights out of her.
