An Angel in Waiting

My Dad

My Dad was my hero. He carried me every where. I rode on the truck with him and when he would get tired I would know and start scratching him on the arm. He says I saved his life by being the perfect little watch dog. He had to park the truck in many ugly unsafe places, but he was always safe with me at the helm.

When I couldn't climb stairs anymore, he made me a ramp. It had to be really long because I couldn't climb it if it was too steep. So it kinda wrapped around the bed to be long enough for me. When I couldn't stand anymore to go potty he built me a little stand with a sling in it to hold me up.

Finally we had to part. I stayed as long as I could and he helped me all he could but finally it was time to go. But I watch over him all the time, and at night when he remembers me in his dreams, he is in love all over again.

No one was like my daddy and he says no one was ever like his baby.

Mommy believes this picture shows the love we had for each other and is her favorite.

We lost a friend this week. He had been with his mommy for 12 years. His mommy got him when she was only 15 years old. As anyone knows 15 is an impossible age for an adolescent. Of course mommy grew older with all the fun and heartache you have in life. Dakota was always there to celebrate her victories on the mountain top, and lend his coat for wiping her tears in the valleys. For 12 years he was there with his encouragement, love and kisses,to move on to the next stage of her life.

When the day was done, it was their very special time for being alone, cuddling and sharing their special love for one another.

His mommy gave him the hardest gift of love there is to give, when she gave him his freedom to cross over the bridge when he got untreatable cancer.

"Koter" was so handsome and such a good boy and is missed by all who knew him.

Rest in Peace sweet Dakota we love you

I Found A Friend

I found a friend.

We have things in common. We both took tons of pills and we were good girls as our Moms had to put lots of needles in us.

But now there are no more pills, no more needles, no more pain.

We're all the same here. We're all as big as our hearts.

We run and play hard each day, chasing anything that crosses our path. But in the night we watch over our families, loving them, waiting for them.

I've been Thanksgiving tagged

I've been tagged by Bella. Here are the rules:
Because it’s Thanksgiving time, there is a change to the rules. Each player needs to tell seven special things they are thankful for. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their 7 things. Then choose 7 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play.

1. I'm thankful my mom and dad got me from the flea infested kennel I was in.

2. I'm thankful it was them that came after me.

3. I'm thankful they took me to the vet the next day after they got me because I was hyperglycemic and might have died.

4. I'm thankful for the manufacturers of my rainbow balls, because it was the only toy I really liked and I went thru a bunch of them in my life.

5. I'm thankful for all the truck stops and restaurants who carry the little half and half creamers for coffee.

6. I'm thankful that any time mom or dad came home or to the truck they let me prowl in the bags to see what they brought me.

7. I'm thankful for the most wonderful dad in the whole wide world. He fixed whatever was broken in my little world. When I got hit by a car he prayed for me and I was well, when I couldn't get up stairs anymore he fixed it with ramps for me to walk up. I never had any knee problems because I was never allowed to do any jumping. I'm thankful I had a good mama too. She faithfully gave me my pills for epilepsy for 10 years. Only a few times in my life did I have to have a bath because I hated them so much because of the way the breeder handled me. Mom would just use dry shampoo and wipies to clean me up. My mom and dad did everything they could for me right up until the end, them mom helped me to the bridge. My mom and dad gave me everything they could and in return I gave them everything I had. My complete and utter devotion and love for almost 14 years.

Today was my birthday. It was such a wonderful day. Friends came by to see me. Some old friends and wow I got to make new friends. I got so many nice gifts, my mom was overwhelmed at the show of love. THANK ALL OF YOU!

I got a birthday cake from Inky. He is the one who made my wings when I first came to the A-Team. Carrie made me two pawsome pictures of my dad and me. He got all misty eyed when he saw them. From the All Fur Fun group I got a whole bunch of presents, balloons and stuff. My brothers love of a lifetime, Little CoCo Puff, gave me my very own star, besides the picture and poem she made for me at the bridge. She captured the beauty of the bridge so well. Six Rosettes, from Sophia, Inky, Daisy & Carrie, Rascal, Dallas & Sassy Girl, and a birthday card from the All Fur Fun gang. And cuz Lakota knows how much my dad and I love roses, I got 2 dozen roses and a diamond pin with roses on it.

Whew! I feel so special. I just want to thank everyone for making my day so wonderful and most specially for making my mom feel so good. It helped a rough day go well.

From my heart to all of yours,

My Birthday Gifts

Today my mom and dad are happy because I got some birthday gifts. One is a picture of me at the Rainbow Bridge. It is so special to mom because she got it from a very special friend. The project she made, she made with actual photos she had taken. I think it is wonderful that she made something I could use to say Hi to mom and dad. It is so pretty. It shows how peaceful I am here. I know they miss me, and I miss them too.

I got two, count em, two dozen red roses, from another very special friend, Lakota. I love him. If I weren't at the bridge I would go live in the Indian territory with him. And he gave me pin with red roses and diamonds on it.

I'm gonna go play now with Lakota's brothers and sisters. They're great too. They were my very first friends. I just wanted you to know how my picture came about and what wonderful moms and dads we have here at Dogster.

Guess what!

Mom, Dad and the rest of the pack's vacation has been delayed by at least a couple of weeks. YAY! Now they will be here for my birthday. I bet Dad brings me red, white and blue roses, like he did in the past. I'm glad they're gonna be here cuz I still don't like the fireworks. If my Dad is close I know I am ok. He always took good care of me.

When they got a higher bed and my little legs wouldn't lift me high enough to get up there, Dad built me a ramp to walk up. It was kinda unsightly, but it sure helped me. Now Sass and Hoss get to use it. Tee Cee even gets to use it cause Dad put carpet on it. He is such a good kitty that is the only place he scratches.

I am rambling, so I am gonna go play with my friends.

I love you Mom and Dad....Prissy

A Letter From My Mom

I got this letter from my mom today.

Sweet Priss our little angel,

We finally got your cemetary site finished. We put a bench there for dad and I to sit and visit, or for anyone else to visit their babies. We put a wind chime in the tree above you. Daddy brought you some beautiful red roses. ( you know what a romantic he is and how red roses are his favorite) I know you are having fun at the bridge because I see so many of your friends at Dogster and at the cemetary, but I still miss you as much today as when you left.

We are leaving for the White Mountains Friday. Going to Big Lake. Remember how much you loved it up there, because it was so cool? We will be gone for your birthday on the Forth of July so I wanted to sing

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday sweet Prissy
Happy Birthday to youuuuuu.

now. We will be remembering our times spent with you there on your other birthdays. Hmmm, I think I will even have a piece of chocolate cake with you. You can have chocolate now. When we go for walks in the day and see the stars in the night we will remember our times together there, smile and know you are watching us, waiting.

She cried as she wrote it but then remembered how much better it is for me now. When she sleeps tonight I will give her some butterfly kisses and she will smile in her dreams remembering me.

I would have been 15 this summer, finally catching Sassy. I bet she does'nt get any chocolate cake with me and mom. : ) I will be watching over all of them.

Bye for now, I have to help mom remember what she has to take.
