Barks & Kisses 4 ever!

This past Sunday as I was sitting in my car waiting for my husband to come down I noticed something furry laying on the sidewalk, I couldn't see what it was & I thought it was dead. I got out of the car & it was 4 newborn cats. I don't know how old they were but they still had the umbilical chord & they were ALIVE!!!! I couldn't believe someone could do a thing like that!!! I put them in a box & left them at my vet until I could think of something. I couldn't sleep at all that night.
I went to the vet the next day and I was going to pay for their boarding, food, vaccines until they would be ready for adoption but the vet told me that they didn't have enough people at the clinic to take care of orphaned kitties & they sent me home with them with a big to-do list.
I've NEVER had or held a cat in my life, I'm a Dog person, amd here I was with 4 little kitties abandoned in the most cruel way and who desperately needed me for tons of attention, love and nourishment. After I preppped an area of my room for my new babies I researched for hours on Neonatal care & I was terrified!! How was I ever going to do all this?!?! If anybody has ever been in my position you know how i felt!!
But all my fears melted away everytime I took a look at them and so I took the big challenge of keeping these little angels alive & healthy. How ironic, i've never really liked cats that much, i don't have kids yet & now i was "mom" to these tiny, innocent creatures... The first two feedings were quite traumatic & frustrating but I got the hold of of it by the third. They need to be fed every 2 hours, so by the time I was finished with the last one i had about 30 mins to start the next... that night i was covered in formula & stool but i LOVED how i smelled!!!!
I knew i couldn't foster the kitties for much longer because of my job so i called dozens of organization & no-kill shelters but got the same answer: we can't take the that small!!! What was I going to do?!?! And then our guardian angel came to our rescue!!! I contacted Monica Ferrer, owner of the Pawtisserie and a cat lover, who as soon heard about the story moved around & promised me she would find someone to foster them. Monica called me the next day and she had found a girl who would volunteer and i will donate all their food, vaccines & the spay/neuter surgeries. I was relieved & happy for them but every hour I spent with them i grew more and more attached. I loved how they smell, their little sounds & purring and I was very regretful of giving them up... And so the dreaded hour came when their new foster mom, Nicole, would pick them up... I prepared a big box with their blankets, carrier, cotton balls, heating pad, food and tons of instructions... it seemed like they were going away for college!!! All i remember is crying the whole time just like I am now...I don't know why i'm crying this much since i'll be able to see them anytime i want, they're in great hands & many people have volunteered to help us.
I just pray every hour that they all can make it thorough, I was warned that it's very hard for them & maybe all will not survive but I want to beat those odds....
I've been a Dogster member for 3 years and this is my first time here at Catster, if any of you have been through this let me know your experience. I will be updating on these kitties journey and hopefully this will story will have a HAPPY ENDING... Please join our prayers for these little ones...

Love to all,

We've just read today's Diary of the Day. It's from Oso, a sweet dog rescued from the streets of Mexico who was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. He's undergoing chemo right now but he's had a very challenging road to recovery. We want all our pals to join us in a group prayer for this sweet doggie. We believe in the power of prayers. Please let's cross our paws for our pal...

We started a picture stroll for him called "Prayers for Oso". So if you can go to the Photo Manager on your Account Page & write "Prayers for Oso" on the picture tag of the photo you choose.

Let's Beat that Cancer, Oso!!!!

Love to all,

P.S- Visit Oso's page

My First X-Mas Tree!!!!

Ok, so Mommy and Daddy came home last night with a big, tall thing I've never seen before in the house. I see them outside in my walks but inside!?!?!?!? So Mommy told me that it was no ordinary tree, it was a X-Mas tree. **** Even though this is not my 1st X-Mas, it's the first time I've seen a X-Mas tree because Grandpa got very sick on my first holidays as a puppy. And since then Grandpa has remained very ill and X-Mas were not the same for Mommy. But she decided to celebrate this year for the first time in four years!!! So you can understand my amusement & excitement by all this!!!*******

So I got very curious and sniffed it for a while. But right then and there Mommy warned me, no pee-pee on the X-Mas tree!!! NO PEE-PEE ON THE TREE?!???!?!?!?!? What's the point on getting a tree for the house if I can't pee-pee on it!! Oh, well...

Then Mommy came with a big box full of balls & thingies which are called ornaments (these big words are killing me!!) and she hanged them on the tree. Boy, was this exciting!! I tried to play with them but they were too hard & big to fit my mouth. And Mommy warned them again that the ornaments were not toys. WHAT?!?!??!

So I asked Toffee what's the deal with the X-Mas tree and he explained it to me. So that's it?!?! You just stare at it & take pictures in front of it!!!! No pee-pee, no playing with the ornaments, no special treats?!?! That's no fun!!!!

I tried to get Mommy's attention but she was too busy decorating the boring tree. I don't get it. So I'll just take my naps by the tree skirt and see how I get myself one of the little balls hanging from it, there has to be a treat somewhere in there...

Mommy got an e-mail today about a poor doggie named GRACIE, who was thrown from a rooftop in a Brooklyn building. She has been rescued and it's recovering from the awful fall. We all get very upset everytime we hear about these terrible acts and unfortunately, things like this happen everyday.

GRACIE wants our help in fighting these horrible acts against her breed. Please go to or
to sign the Petition. It's just 2 minutes of your doggie time.

To all my dear pals, please sign the Pledge to End Pit Bull Abuse & Animal Cruelty. And please Spread the Word!!!!!!

Love you all,

Mommy has gone nuts!!!

We moved a month ago and Mommy decided to sell all the old furniture and redecorate (whatever that means). So Mommy organized a garage sale which was very fun because we had lots of people over to sniff and cuddle. But I didn't know this kind people were gonna take our favorite stuff. When the sale was over, I had nowhere to lounge but the cold floor (ugh!!) and my doggie bed, which are really cute but not nearly as comfortable as the big, big sofa.

I love the new house since it's steps away from the beach but I miss my friends and my favorite trees. We still have no furniture because Mommy takes too much time to browse around; so I've been forced to sleep in my doggy bed, can you believe it!?!?

Oh, I think she's coming through the door...great, she has bags from the pet store, yeahh!!, I smell Greenies, I smell Peanut Butter Cookies and what is that?!?! a new doggie bed, no way?!?, what makes her think I want a new bed! God, make it stop, I want my ratty, smelly, old sofa.
