Daddy's Girl Who Misses Her Mommy

My Mommy travels on business a lot. It is nice when I get to go with her, but not always possible (especially since the corporate condo now has a ban on pets -- I'd like to see them ban kids, too!! Hmph!). Sometimes Daddy and I stay home without her. As much as I love my Daddy, I miss Mommy when she's gone.

For starters, Mommy is a really good cook. (Daddy's idea of cooking is unwrapping cheese and lunchmeat while eating it standing in the fridge -- which means no leftovers for me!) And not only does Mommy cook really well, but she ALWAYS gives me something special.

The other morning I thought I heard her in the kitchen and went running in there to see what she was making and to be a good girl and wait for a treat. But when I went in there, I couldn't find her. I was shocked to see Daddy standing at the stove! I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me! My Daddy barely boils water most days. If Mommy didn't leave him food in the fridge when she went out of town, he'd eat tuna out of a can every day until she got back. But there he was, standing at the stove, making bacon and eggs.

It was a shocking moment for a little girl like me.

But it also made me realize how much I miss Mommy. Because no matter how much Daddy loves me, the one thing my Daddy will never share with ANYONE (even Mommy) is bacon.

So I sadly turned around and walked out of the kitchen.

I don't know when Mommy is going to be home, but it can't be soon enough. Every time I hear the front gate open, I go running to the door waiting to see her. But so far, it hasn't been her yet. It's been almost a week now. She should really come home.

The only person who may miss her more than me is Daddy.
