We got this from our friend Abby:
Copy this diary entry, and paste it into your diary. Read then delete my answers. Then you can fill in your own! We can get to know our pals better!! Have fun!! Then send a paw mail or rosette to 4 pals and ask them to post it in their diary!!!!
Here we GO!!!!!
1. What color is your collar? I only wear my collar when I am out for a walk as it messes up my hair! It's mainly red with lots of other colours such as yellow and orange with nice white bones on it.
2. What kind of food do you eat? I love my PAL dog food and will not eat my biscuits unless there is some juicy meat on it, but my favorite meal is when my brother makes an Irish stew and pours the gravy into my dinner.
3. What are your favorite treats? My favorite treat is the slice of ham I get when my mummy is making the others their sandwiches for lunch.
4. Do you have a Valentine or significant other?? Everyone in my family thinks they are my favorite, but my mommy is the one I like the best as she is with me all the time when they go to work.
5. Do you get Table Scraps? Only when I beg which I know is bad, but I am so good at it.
6. What is your favorite toy? My footballs, which ever one someone wants is my favorite which probably goes for all my other toys as well.
7. When is your Birthday?...In Jan 2010 I will be nine.
8. How many times a day do you get to eat? It depends, I only get one special medicine bar each day with glucosamine and chondroitin in it for my bad hips, other than that I get the odd biscuit.
9. Do you have a favorite color? Not sure about this one, I like all colours equally.
10. Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary? I would not like to put any pressure on them if they are pushed for time.

Most of my family went on holidays for the last 2 weeks so Michael took annual leave to stay with me as I have separation anxiety disorder (S.A.D.) and don't like to be left alone 'cause I get scared.
It was like the longest weekend ever, we went to the beach every morning and because the weather has been so good I got to swim a lot....which is my favorite thing in the whole world. When we got home I got toweled down which I like too.
Later after breakfast he played football with me and cuddled when I got a bit stiff from all the fun.
The cartrophen is working wonders although I just have to be careful how much I play as I get sore later if I overdo it. Unless I start to get sore again I don’t need to have another injection until December.
Here’s hoping all you doggies out there had as much fun as I have had for the past two weeks.
Kim.

Well here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. I chose to tag friends that had not been tagged before.

I had my first cartrophen injection today which was very scary, but when I got home I had yummy chicken.
The injections are once every week for four weeks and then once every four months. Thanks to all the dogsters that suggested supplements as I will also be getting Arthri Aid after we see if the injections are working.

Now because I am supposed to take it easy I get brought for drives to the beach and park instead of walking to them which we used to do. I have always loved the car rides and now I get to go for a drive every day. I just love to sit looking at the cars behind us so that I can make faces at them. My humans just open the boot and sit with me as we watch the world go by. It’s not as much fun as playing on the beach, but is not as sore when we get back.

Firstly I would like to thank all the dogsters who paw mailed me to offer get well wishes and also suggestions of supplements and medication to help.
Although still limping, I feel a lot better now due to a temporary supply of Rymadil which is a very strong painkiller. As there are a lot of side affects with Rymadil I will stop taking it as soon as I start a series of injections to ease the pain caused by the hip dysplasia.
Due to all the helpful suggestions from dogsters, we were very well informed as to what we wanted when we went back to the vet. We will be getting a series of injections over four weeks and then one injection every three months. I can not remember the name of the injections, but I will update my diary with the name and how well they are working later. In addition to the injections, I am going to take ArthriAid, a supplement containing glucosomine, chondroitin and MSM. Both glucosomine and chondroitin are supposed to aid in the synthesis and maintenance of cartilage in the joint, while MSM helps soothe knocks, bumps and bruises.
ArthriAid Ingredients - per 50ml
Glucosamine 10,000mg
Chondroitin 2,000mg
MSM 2,000mg
Vit. C 700mg
Mineral Manganese 100mg

Last week I was limping a bit, Michael and Imelda who are a bit over protective brought me to the vet. They must have been very worried about me as I always shiver like a little poodle when I go to the vet.
When the vet could not find anything wrong with my paws or legs he decided that x-rays were needed. Well having found nothing wrong in my leg x-rays he took an x-ray of my hips and discovered that they were in bad shape, he suggested it looks like hip dysplasia.
I was given some drugs and I seem ok now.
I asked my fellow dogsters at the dogsterholics group if they have any experience with hip dysplasia and I got some very helpful and kind responses.
Since I am only six years old I don’t want to take drugs, I don’t even smoke or drink alcohol!!
If anyone has any suggestions on how my humans can make my life better with my bad hips please let me know. If you all suggest more treats he might fall for it.

Well it's all over now. Easter weekend here in Ireland means “Good Friday” off and a bank holiday on Monday. I waited with my chin resting on the window sill for my Michael to come home from work. You see he is away all week and really spoils me when he comes home every weekend. As this is a long weekend I have been taking lots of doggie naps so that I’ll be able to keep up on our long walks on the beach.
When he got home on Thursday we went straight down to the beach. I was so excited that I wanted to spin, but he doesn’t like that so I didn’t. That night I went up to bed early as I had been on two other walks earlier and I was dog tired. The next morning I went in to waken Michael at 6am, which is too early even for him, but I was sooo looking forward to the beach as the weather is really good now and I might be allowed into the sea for a swim. I crept up beside him and fell asleep for a while. I think he was only letting on to be asleep, because I quite heavy and must have woken him up when I lay on top of him. At 7:30am we were on our way and although I knew I wouldn’t meet my friends because we were too early I ran all the way. When we got there he said “do you want to...” and before he could say “…go in the water” I was half way there. I swam out after every plastic bottle that he threw, I’ll have to have words with him as throwing bottles into the sea seems like littering and I might not always be there to get them.
When we got back I got such a good towel down and a brush to get all the sand off me. I had a quick breakfast and I was out again, I was a bit tired, but hey a walk is a walk and should never be turned down.
Later on I went to sleep outside in the back garden, I actually managed to sleep through all the coming and goings in the kitchen which is rare for me as I am always so alert. After dinner Michael and Imelda brought me over to the field where I got to smell all the trees…. I fell into a deep sleep and had some wonderful dreams when I got home.
The next day, Saturday, I was up bright and early again and I got to go to the beach and have another swim. Poor Michael still keeps throwing the plastic bottles he finds into the sea and I end up having to get them, I really will have to have a little chat about that. We spent a while at the water and as it got later there were a lot of horses on the beach and I met some friends, two Great Danes and two Border Collies. When I got home I had a towel down and a brush again….wow all the attention, but I’m worth it. I was brought to the field again, but I was so tired I just strolled around.
Sunday, I thought that I might get a rest and stayed in bed but Michael woke me up at 8am. Off we went to the beach and when he said I could go into the water I forgot how tired I was. As revenge for waking me up so early I decided to keep rubbing up again him when I came out of the water…he seemed to see the funny side.
More towel drying, more brushing and another walk in the field after dinner, I am being so spoiled this weekend.
This has turned out to be a bit long so I’ll just tell you what I did on Monday, yep, beach, towel, brush….and then Michael went back down the country and I can have a rest…until next weekend.
