THE STAIRWAY TO ???????????

When mom got home from work tonigh she told me that we had to go feed her friends cat as they were out of town, and that I could go with her. Boy of boy, I just love meeting new cats and chaseing them all over.

Well when we got there I naturally flew out of the car (oops, forgot I have a leash on). Anyway we got to the gate and I jumped on the step waiting for mom to open it. When she did I just naturally went to run in the yard. What appeared before me was unreal. Instead of a yard there was a gazillion steps that seemed to lead to no where. Well I have climbed stairs before, I have three at my house but this was unreal.

Mom said come on Gizmo. ARE YOU KIDDING, NO WAY!!!!. Mom pulled at my leash so finally I begrudgely went up four stairs and stopped. Come on Gizmo and I went up four more and figured we surely must be where we were going by then. I looked up and all I could still see was stairs. Well I finally went up four stairs at a time. It took forever to get to the top. I had never seen so many stairs in my little life. Once there to my horror was a huge bowl like thing filled with water. What are you doing to me mom. She said it was a swimming pool, and not to be afraid. I had no where to go, I was trapped. between the water and stairs.

Mom finally opened the door and we went into the house. Mom told me that this cat had never seen a dog before. Well I wanted to act all macho and stuff and not let that cat know that his stairs and pool had really freaked me out. So I just rambled in looking really cute, you know, like I always do. No cat could be found. I thought I would sniff around the kitchen a bit while mom fixed his food. All of a sudden there was this humungous cat that seemed to have dropped out of the sky, (he didn't have far to fall since his house was practically there). All I could see was a ball of fir and two huge eyes staring at me. He didn't look to happy to see me and was sort of growling. Mom said not to bother him (NO PROBLEM MOM, don't think I will chase this one, he looks like a tank with eyes). I stayed real close to mom and we finally finished feeding and watering him (whats he need water for when he has a huge swimming bowl out in the yard) and left.

When we went out the door mom said OK Gizmo, lets go down the stairs. WHAT I just came up those horrible things. Well I decided I would just close my eyes and not move and mom would have to carry me down. When that didn't work I just took a deep breath and took off running down them. Well I was at the bottom in no time and mom was still at the top just laughing at me. IT 'S NOT FUNNY! Who would live in a house with stairs that go to the sky.

Finally we got home and I was so glad to see my one and only step that leads into my house. Well I am going to sign off for now and massage my legs as they are kinda stiff. Sure hope I don't dream about all those steps.
