Arrival Story: Neko is actually my roomate Amy's dog, but we all live together as a happy family (Pima and I, with Amy and Neko).
Amy researched dog rescue organizations in our area (Toronto) and we went to see a small beagle named Ernie, but he didn't get along with Pima. The rescue ladies suggested we visit a dog named Beauty that was just a few blocks away. When we got there, this very happy black dog came and instantly got along with Pima, and Pima got along with her too, which is often the hardest part. She was so full of life and joy even though she was seriously sick because she had mastitis from having 7 puppies and being only a puppy herself. She would runaround seemingly unaware of these giant udders hanging from her belly. The rescue organization brought her to our house a few days later, and though she was skittish and a bit afraid (well maybe a LOT afraid) she settled in and is now a very important part of our family. Oh, and the udders shrank away so that she is now a slim and sleek girl.
