Oh Augs, where do I start? You taught me so much...about patience, understanding, and unconditional love. It broke my heart not to be able to ease your fears completely during your time with me...and for that I'm sorry. I'm so sorry about the way you were mistreated in the life you led before I took you to your real forever home.
I will never forget how happy you were chasing the tiny ghost crabs at the beach, or wading in the river; rolling in the slushy snow and chasing the chipmunks in Maine. I can see you running with your funny rocking-horse gait now. I'm glad I was able to recognize and share in your love of the outdoors, my scrappy little friend.
I miss you everyday...and even crazy Cooper reminds me of you often. He looks for lizards to chase in the same places you did, and sometimes he makes little noises that sound just like you. I miss you so much, Little Man...I look forward to the day we meet again.
