My Goat Adventure, Ruff, ruff!

It's been a little while ago now, but worth telling:
I got to go to Granny's house @ Lake o' the Pines, TX in Nov. and took a walk in the woods like we always do along the fence row. Oh my gravy, do you know what we found? 2 pygmy goats were in our path. I didn't know about them, but my Kathy did. She said aren't they cute, but I just thought they smelled and sounded funny. She said lets make some new friends with Hershey and Butter Cup, so I tried. I just had to bark to see what they would do. They came over to me and startled me at first; believe me, I kept my distance. Then I smelled something good on the ground and decided to roll in it, nah, not what you think; it was goat food! I ate some too, Mmmm!

Well the other day, they had a baby goat, yes they have a kid! She sure is cute, although we've just seen pictures of her (in photo above). She's a week old in the photo and Granny might name her "Sweet Pea". I don't think that's such a great idea b/c I bet she doesn't smell so sweet, Arf, arf! My Kathy says she looks sweet tho. I tink that baby goat can stay wid the Granny and not with us!

Spring has sprung here =) HAPPY EASTER!
Have a pawsome day,

Our human GrandDaddy, Lee, is 100 years old on 11/10/2007; WOW, what a milestone Bday that was huh?! There was a family reunion in his honor with cake and all the trimmings =) We had a crowd there!

Our nephew, PFC Clint, is officially an infantry soldier. He graduates this week from Ft. Benning. We're so proud of him for sticking to it and making it through. He had a lot of challenges and hurdles to get over. Hey Buddy, you did it!!!! Hooah!!!! He will spend some time at home and then he will be stationed in Germany. I'm sure we will get to see him before his leave comes up!!!! I bet he will have the stories to tell =)
GO ARMY!!!! That's one of the reasons for my picture with the USA flags; I'll give him one. This is Hunter's brother that's on dogster too ID 332211.

My Vet Experience

I got to go to the vet yesterday ... I didn't know it until my kennel was being loaded up and then I was harnessed, walked and loaded into the car myself. Nobody told me anything... I admit to whining somewhat. Well, I got there and was greeted by 3 dogs and one cat! Everybody was on good behavior and it was fun meeting some new friends =) Then I heard my name called out and we were the first to go in! All went well until I had to get my nails trimmed and then it was not fun anymore. My Kathy said that I did the best I could at the vet and she gave me a yummy treat when we got home from Dr. Duty. Then I took a long nap since I was tuckered out from doing all that. Boy, I sure am glad that's over!!!

My Stats:
36 lbs.
overall great health
all tests were negative
need to exercise more and
eat less, ha, ha!

Have a pawsome day,
*Star Tip*

P.s. chek this out

Howdy to all my Dogster buddies!

I wanna share a dog treat recipe with y'all since I get to eat
these on my Bday which is tomorrow!!! I turn 9.
Here it goes ...

STAR'S REWARD (doggie treats)
1 pkg active dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar
2 c flour
2 c wheat flour
2 c corn meal
2 c oats
1 c fresh mint leaves, chopped or 1 T dried (opt.)
1 c fresh parsley leaves, chopped or 1 T dried
1/2 c toasted wheat germ (opt.)
1 can beef or chicken broth
3/4 c milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine yeast, sugar and 1/4 c warm water to dissolve yeast. In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients; mix well. Stir in liquids until dough forms. Knead and roll out to 1/4 thickness. Use a knife or a dog bone biscuit cutter, cut out and place on cookie sheet(s) sprayed with cooking spray.

Bake 30 min. then turn oven off and leave in oven until it cools for crunchy bites. Store in air tight container and up to 3 months in the refrigerator. Be aware of wheat allergies. These are great for doggie Bdays and dog Christmas treats too! Variation: Make one big dog bone cake and bake 5 minutes longer.
Frost with cream cheese icing thinned out with a little milk (make frosting in any color you would like =)

Just sharing my Bday treats with my pals!
Wuv, *Star Tip*
