...which means Mom actually takes us to the bark park again, since there's less danger of everyone's skin melting off in the horrible Houston heat. We just got back from a good romp around Danny Jackson. I made some friends and got to ruuun and run and run like I don't usually get to do when we're cooped up inside. Monty stretched out and ran like the wind--maybe he's right when he brags about being the world's fastest dog.

Last week Monty and I hung out at a special hotel just for dogs and cats--Livy got to go stay with Gran'ma and Gran'pa D. It was okay I guess but I would've liked to go with Mommy and Daddy because they were visiting Mommy's mommy and daddy and I've never met those guys before. Mom even got to hang out with Uncle Milo and she said I'd be a good playmate for him. She said the bark park where Grandma M takes Milo is really wild compared to ours down here in Texas: ours are manicured and landscaped and open...Uncle Milo's park is full of brambles and tall grass and other fun stuff. I really hope we all get to visit Grandma and Grandpa M soon!

We will vanquish the evil fleas!

We're so happy--Mom just made an appointment with the nice vet and we're gonna go get our heartworm stuff (yum) AND we're gonna get some flea preventative. Mom and Dad have been really worried--me and Livy are getting eaten alive and that's so not okay. So on Monday Mom and Dad will celebrate their anniversary by taking us little dogs up to the nice vet and getting us all taken care of. Hooray!

...but Mom and Dad still aren't unpacked even though we've been here almost a month. (What lazy jerks--I mean, really.) ALSO we haven't been to the close-by dog park yet. WHATEVER. Mom promised that when they have more money they'll splurge on some fancy treats and accessories at the dog boutique in the mall where they work. THEY'D BETTER.

The ouchie on my tummy

Hi pups. It's been a while. Big news, though: a little over a week ago Mom and Dad took me to the vet. They gave me some stuff to make me sleep then when I woke up there was an ouchie on my tummy and I felt groggy and crummy for the rest of the day. What was that all about?! Mom and Dad said it's so I don't have to worry about having puppies and stuff so I guess it's okay. But it was weird.

The other big news is that we're gonna move! Mom and Dad found an apartment that will let them bring all three of us pooches AND IT'S NEAR A DOG PARK. OMD. So that's plenty exciting. Oh, and I have a little foster brother again. His name is Felipe and he's super tiny and cute. We'll miss him lots when he goes to his forever home. Mom and Dad will too.

That's about it. Aroo ra roo roo, etc.

Mom finally talked Grandma into making pages for "uncle" Milo and "uncle" Panda. Us pups out here in Texas haven't met them yet but we're excited to share cyberspace with 'em. Grandma's particularly anxious to get some input on what breeds might have contributed to Milo, "The Darling Mess." The consensus so far is German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie/Australian Shepherd but who knows!

Not me, that's for sure . I'm just the puppeh.

More academic tomfoolery

A couple days ago Mom took me to hang out on campus again and the coolest thing happened: I got to meet the Linguistics Corgi, who is very beautiful and friendly and we played so hard! We romped and tussled and ran and I got to practice my pouncing. I ♥ the Linguistics Corgi! Mom had a ridiculously nerdy good time chatting with the Linguistics Corgi's human for, like, an hour and a half about dog stuff. Whatever; I got to PLAY.

An academic adventure

On Friday Mom had to attend a class in the morning and Dad had to go to work all afternoon. "The snoots" do just fine hanging out at the apartment by themselves but, well, I'm The Puppeh and it's just not a very good idea to leave me alone aaall day. So they took me with them!

First Dad hung out with me on campus while Mom went to class (she actually taught that day, too), then Dad took off and Mom hung around campus with me till he got off work.

I romped around the grounds and met my first squirrels. Boy, they're intriguing. And probably delicious. I met lots of Mom's friends and professors and other Rice people and everyone said I was Incredibly Pretty and Such A Good Girl. There was a picnic with lots of people (who also thought I was gorgeous and perfect, etc.) I made friends with cool Boston Terrier and Mom saw her first real live Chinese Crested.

The Australian guy wrestled with me and said I do look like a dingo and he likes me very much. I think I have a puppy-crush on him.

Mom was kind of disappointed that I thought it was cool to bark and bark and bark and bark and bark and bark and bark and bark and bark and bark at little kids...even the ones who were polite and not-crazy. "Maybe it's just a phase," Mom said. All I know is that, if I'm a dingo, it's my birthright to eat me up some delicious babies. Why don't Mom and Dad understand?

They can't be too upset with Princess Ida, though, because they just took me to PetSmart and bought me a Cuz. An evil Cuz. It squeaks and bounces around real nice so I'm pretty sure I can stalk and kill it. 'Cause I'm a dingo, right?

BORING DAY

So Dad was gone at work ALL DAY. And Mom wasn't feeling well. We hardly got to go out at all. It was totally NOT AWESOME. I'm planning to pout until they give in and take me back to the bark park.

At least I've been getting "I'm sorry, Precious Puppy" belly rubs all evening.

An adventure!

The weather's really nice today so Mom and Dad decided it was time to take me to the Most Seriously Awesome Place Ever. I've been here exactly two weeks and I've had a good time romping with Monty and exploring the apartment complex but Mom and Dad could tell it was time to get serious about working off some of my puppeh energies. So they took me to THE DOG PARK. OMG, pups. OMG.

It's huge and there are these big muddy ponds that just us dogs can play in--pretty cool but I didn't think swimming looked like it was for me. (I may be a rompous puppeh but I have my daintier sensibilities, too.) I met some really wiggly puppies who were even younger than me, and I saw some really really BIG dogs--that was nuts! Living with Monty and Livy, I was pretty sure I was the biggest dog in the world but nope. They were nice, though. They didn't stomp on me or anything.

I ran around to all the humans and flirted with them and made sure they all knew I'm the puppeh. My mom and dad had a great time too. They saw a couple examples of breeds they'd never met in person before: a Smooth Collie and a Keeshond. Mom was excited because Mom's a nerd. Mom also melted into a little puddle when Scout the Basset Hound rolled over and asked for some belleh rubs. Scout's mom and dad said she'd done just that to them when they met her at the SPCA. That Scout's a smooth one. (I didn't mind Mom rubbing another belleh 'cause I was busy trotting around and being cute.)

When we finally left the dog park I thought the fun was over but it wasn't. Mom and Dad took me to PetSmart (where I got to see some seriously cute dogs and kitties who need homes) and bought me a new bag of food and my very own id tag. They were delighted to see that PetSmart does carry Blue Buffalo but sadly us dogs'll have to wait till Dad starts a new job before we can try that stuff. Nutro's pretty good for now, I guess.

Monty and Livy stayed home this time. Livy 'cause he doesn't like the dog park (what is with that guy, anyway?) and Monty because he'd been a little under the weather lately. We're pretty sure he's okay now but Mom and Dad wanted him to have one more day to rest. It was too bad he couldn't be there 'cause in the little-dog part there was an iggie who looked just like him! Boy, Monty would've loved to chase her. He's into that stuff.

Well, I'm the puppeh. Rub mah belleh, etc.

Wow, lots of pups have generously given me Rosettes and Stars and kind wishes. Mom and Dad and I are really touched. (Mom wishes she wasn't out of Zealies so she could reciprocate!) Dogster is a great community and I just wanna thank y'all for being so sweet. BIG SLOPPY KISSES TO EVERYONE, BUWAHAHAHA!
