Switching gears

Looks like we're going to have to try a different route with managing my pain and mobility. Mom called the vet but we won't hear back from her until tomorrow to see if she wants to go the steroid route or possibly even see me again and go from there. I am eating and drinking but I'm no longer getting up for it. It's full service here, they are bringing it right to me! I have gotten up to go to the bathroom though. That's a good thing ;)

Anyway, the thing the sticks out the most for me is all the outpouring of love and support I am receiving. It has meant the world to us, especially me! I love you all and wish everyone the very best of health throughout the year. No pup should suffer.

Better day

New stronger pain pills have helped me today. I feel a lot better and have been getting up by myself. I'm optimistic that this will continue working, but if it doesn't, the vet said we could switch to trying a steroid and see if that helps. Gosh, I sure hope I don't have to do a drug test once I'm crowned the Next American Idol. I'm sure for medicinal purposes, it would be fine though! Right?

God is listening to all those powerful prayers and this fellow sure appreciates it! Thank you! You've been awesome!

A turn for the worse

Seems things are getting a little complicated here. When I went to the vet Friday, I wasn't doing well but at least I was still walking and able to get up on my own and now it is getting to the point where I can barely walk at all and need assistance to even get in the standing position. I'm not even getting up to eat or drink and they are bringing it to me. Looks like I'll be going back to the vet, only I'll need a couple hands to get me there this time. No way momma is going to manage it on her own.

WOW!!!!!!

This is just amazing! I'm just thrilled to be DOTD and have so much attention. My mom, the secretary, is going to help me get through all my paw mails, requests, and thank you notes. She's slow, so pawlease be patient :) This is just amazing and we all feel so blessed. I know I'm just thrilled but the whole family is happy for me!! Even Chester said congrats!

So, daddy talked to the vet this morning and my blood work results were perfect! I figured it would since it had been at the time of my surgery in October, but it is nice to know for sure. She also said I can take some Deramaxx for my pain, which I did. I'm feeling a little better now but have to take it very easy. I'm on my antibiotics for a couple weeks for the UTI but since the pills are chewables, it is like a treat to me! I love treats! Hopefully I'll be much better soon.

Thank you again from the bottom of my big ol' Rottie heart! This is really special for me! I also appreciate all the good thoughts and prayers!

OMD - I'm DOGSTER DOTD!

Can you imagine, me DOTD before my younger brothers and sister! I still can't believe my eyes! Thank you, thank you!!!!!! Mom is off to volunteer at the shelter with Teddy this morning but will be back early in the afternoon. She promises to let everyone know the blood work results and to start thanking everyone for this great honor. I'm just thrilled to be DOTD

My vet visit

For the first time I cried in pain. My rear right leg doesn't hurt, but the vet feels the left leg, which has arthritis, is giving me trouble for always compensating for the lack of use on the other side. It is also continuing to lose muscle mass as well. The weather may be the cause of how bad it is lately though so we're hoping as it warms up in the coming months that I'll improve. I'm on an antibiotic now for a UTI. The urinalysis showed signs of the start of an infection so we're nipping it in the bud right away. Hopefully that will help cut down on my water intake. We won't know the results of the blood work until tomorrow, but it has always been fine in the past and we hope it still is. My walking is and continues to be my biggest burden. Thank you for thinking of me and keeping in your thoughts and prayers. It means a lot to me to know I have my pals out there and that they care for me.

Pawsitive thoughts pawlease!

I'm going back to the vet tomorrow for my 6 month check-up and could use a few prayers, pawlease. I know I was in last October for my surgery, but this is when I get a good looksie over and have my blood work and heartworm test done. I had blood drawn before surgery but we're going to have it done again because I've been drinking a lot lately. It may be because it's winter and the house is so dry but it is out of character and needs to be addressed. My mom's biggest worry though is my DM. I've been doing so well for so long, but recently it seems to be getting worse. I'm dragging my rear right leg all the time now and she thinks my left leg is now losing muscle. I'm not scared or showing pain, but mom is concerned. So, for her, would you mind thinking good thoughts for me? I'll let you know what the vet says tomorrow. I have a 9:00 AM appointment but there is almost 2 hours of driving time in there too.

It's a pawty!!!

In honor of my 10th birthday and the kickoff to the new season of American Idol, I'll be hosting a pawty to celebrate! I got a pawsome new HD big screen TV in my pawty room and we'll be having a meat and cheese tray as well as several varieties of homemade doggie biscuits. Oh, and let's not forget the birthday cake! I hope I don't burn down the house with all those candles! Just show up around back by 7:00 PM CST and let the pawty begin! We all love Randy's dawg pound, right! Paula is just so cute, and seeing Ryan and Simon bicker is always a grand time! Bring earplugs, this is the tryouts.....BOL
