Christmas Tag!

2007

What a year! It's been a year of ups and downs and now it's closing to an end. The year started out just fine as most years do. I have been healthy and happy. Spring comes along and all the dreaded poking and prodding from the vet happens. I got blood draws, shots, and stuff stuck up my nose to prevent kennel cough. Then I got tasty little treats called Heartgard. I only get those once a month, but I like them! As spring wore on, I noticed mom was taking my sister to the vet all the time. It seemed like they were there every other day. My sister got some med changes and they were taking all kinds of pictures of her with these things called x-rays. Oh, my sister Tara was very brave though and never complained. I admired her so much. Spring turned into summer and my hair was getting longer and longer. It was hot outside! Thank goodness for air conditioning. With the heat I saw my sister struggle more and more with her breathing. Back to the vet and more med changes. Then one Sunday morning she said her final goodbye and left us to be with all the other angels in heaven. I was so lost. Mom said I took it harder than any of the other dogs. Where did my big sister go and why would she leave me. I was sad and didn't even want to go outside. Tara used to show me where to potty and now I didn't want to potty at all. Time heals the heart though and I got better and better. Summer turned into fall and mom started looking for a new Chow sister for me but something went very wrong and she ended up adopting a crabby old Pekingese BROTHER!! I wanted a sister!!!! Well, he was old and matted and needed a home so she took him in. He's gotten better but he still steals my toys and even breaks some of them. The Chicago Bears are having a terrible football season this year, that just breaks my heart! So now fall turns into winter and here we are again. It's freezing and that long hair I complained about in the summer is finally paying off. If nothing else, it helps me stay a little warmer on our outings. I'll start 2008 without my sister but I do have a new (old) brother and I'm still healthy and happy! Many blessings to all my Dogster pals. We all wish you the very healthiest and happiest New Year.

Here are my 7 furtastic facts:
1) Mom is letting my hair grow out. I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but I'm getting used to it. The only problem is when we go for a walk, I bring half the neighborhood home with me in my fur....BOL
2) My nickname at playgroups is Mia the marker. I can't help it, way too many smells that need to be covered up!
3) I'm going on three years with my new family. I just love them and they sure do love me!
4) Teddy has a girlfriend now. I'm still single :(
5) I had fun being Mia Furlacher during the football season and Mia Mistletoe during Christmas. I wonder if I can come up with something for Valentine's Day?
6) My favorite past time is ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ......... sleeping!
7) I just love Dogster and all the cool pups I've met!

I've got a date to the dance!

On January 14, 2008 I received an invitation to the STAFU St. Valentine's Day Ball by the ever so handsome RaJa Babu! Heart a fluttering, I typed my response and said YES! This inspired my newest name change........Mia Muah! I can't wait to be swept off my feet at the dance.

I got a new collar!

Mom came home today and presented me with a spiffy new Valentine's Day collar. It is very beautiful! Pink with hearts all over it! I'll try to cooperate with a picture, but it'll be hard to see under all that hair. Mom loves for us to have pretty collars, but for most of us you can't even see them ....BOL If mom was really smart she'd save her collar money and just buy us some new treats! Am I not right?

I do love my collar though and I love my mom for always thinking of me :)

PS - Hey RaJa Babu! I'll show you my collar on the 14th (muah!)

I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day. Why did I have to lose another friend though? I miss you Bruno and Tara. I hope you have a happy celebration in heaven now that you are all reunited together again with Sandi.

Daddy made us those delicious freeze dried pizza puffs again for Valentine's Day. Yummy yummy, that will be an extra special treat. Here's wishing everyone a very special day, be it here on Earth or up in Heaven.

It's my Gotcha Day!!

Woo Hoo! It's that time of year again that the pawrents call my Gotcha Day! It's a funny day to call my Gotcha Day because I was actually already adopted a couple weeks prior but was in foster while recovering from my second spay surgery (long story but it actually worked out in the best interest of my future health). Anyway, on March 6, 2005 mom and me drove home to Minnesota and for the first time I was able to meet the entire family! I'm so happy I found a new forever home. Mom made me some homemade biscuits last night! I'm so excited! I found out that Emmett was eating some though. He really does think he's a dog, silly cat! I'm hoping to get some other new treats today but mom has been tight lipped. All I know is the weather foiled her plan to give me a bath!!! HaHa mom!! I didn't mean to dial up quite so cold the weather, but now I'm not getting a bath! Three years, three whole years! I'm happy and the pawrents are over the moon in love with me!

It's Spring!!

Today is the first official day of spring (although you couldn't tell here in MN)!

Hope every pup has a wonderful spring season. I went to the vet two days ago and got a clean bill of health. Blood results came back great! Woo Hoo! I'm 9.8 pounds now and a perfect weight. Mom says I'm very delicate compared to my brothers. All in all it was a good visit, with the exception of the shot (ouch!).
