Cuddles! Chasing Leo

Being left at home while Leo goes out with mum!

Favorite Toy:
Leo, tug toys, just understanding squeakies now :)

Favorite Food:
What isn't?! She loves chicken chunkers, gooey dog rolls and more.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere where she can have a good long run and chase Leo

Best Tricks:
still learning. We can sit, drop, stand and we have a bully recall :)

Arrival Story:
I wanted another Aussie to start my showing career with so that I could learn a little more about the breed before I started breeding etc. I was looking at another (younger) litter from the same breeder but they ended up keeping the only show girl. They also thought Kinta would be better suited to me, being higher energy and probably better suited to agility/obedience

We will be tackling conformation showing, obedience, agility and herding later down the track.... Perhaps even some flyball and freestyle. Kinta is also working as a Therapy dog with her big 'brother' Leo.

Wow - time has flown! I can't believe it is 6mths since I last wrote in this diary! I guess my mum hogs the computer a lot! Well we have been very busy also!

I am well on the way in my show career and even though we don't go to that many shows, I have picked up a couple of 'class in group' awards which mum is really happy about! Both Mum and my 'other' mum (aka breeder) think that I have the potential, so I guess that is a good thing!

I totally love the game that mum was trying to teach me last time -you know the one where I chase balls and things! Well - I do it ALL the time now and even bring toys to mum to throw! Leo even has trouble getting them from me sometimes! He doesn't seem to mind though - although if he gets it too often, I like to bark at him to tell him to give me another go!!!!

The latest thing mum has found out that I love is frisbee's! She said she never really tried as Leo is not that fussed about them, but I love em! Boy are they fun! and fast too! I wish I could fly like that!

Our obedience is going well and mum says she is really pleased with my progress.... apparently she can't wait until she competes with me, whatever that means! I've also started agility and boy is that nuts! It is sooo much fun! Mum can be a bit confusing at times though - but you kinda have to work with these humans.... give them a bit of leeway!

Hi There!

Hi guys,

My name is Kinta and I'm a 6mth old zooming Aussie Shepherd! I love to run around, be silly and annoy the daylights out of my older 'brother' (he really is my uncle, but I call him brother!) Leo. He doesn't really react though!

I have only lived with my 'new' family for a little while as I stayed at the place I was born until I was 5mths old.... well almost 5 mths. I really like my new place though as I get plenty of attention, lots of outings and more! Whats better is I still get to see my old family often, usually every weekend when we go out to this thing called 'dog shows'. I'm not really sure what it is except that there are a lot of people and dogs around. The problem is that we have to stay clean and I HATE being clean so Mum usually has to confine me a little. She is always complaining that no sooner does she give me a bath do I find the dirtiest place to roll! Well you'd think she would have got the hint by now that I DONT like being clean and would prefer it if I could stay the way I like!

Apparently in a few weeks i'll also be starting in a new venture called obedience. We've been doing a bit at home and i'm getting pretty good at it (if I do say so myself!) - I can sit and stand really well (apparently mum wants me to stand in a special way... keeps moving my feet...). I wait for my dinner until i'm told to eat and I come most times when mum calls me (sometimes I like to see what happens if I don't come back!). I'm starting to understand this 'drop' thing, but Mum says it needs more work!

Mum is spending a lot of time with me and trying to get me to play with toys. I love tuggy toys and will play with these all day. I jump up and try and get them out of Mum's hands. The problem is that when mum says stop I have to :(. I always get a treat though, so it isn't that bad! The other game which I don't quite understand yet is retrieving. Mum will throw a toy and I love to chase them, but she seems to want me to bring it back. She goes crazy whenever I pick it up... its really funny so sometimes I drop the toy and run back to play with her, but then she gets really boring. I've started to notice though that if I bring the ball back, she will play with me.... gosh humans are weird! I prefer the balls that squeak though as opposed to the furry kind :P. The problem is - I don't like playing this game when Leo is around as he always gets the toy :(.

Mum is also talking a lot about agility - she thinks i'll be really good at it coz I listen to her (most of the time) and I love to run and jump FAST! She says she can't wait to try me out on it. Leo says it is really fun, but I have no idea what it is (Leo can't really explain it either!).

Well thats about it from me!

Until next time
