Arrival Story: As a professional pet sitter/dog walker, Millie came to us in the summer of 2005 as a client. We instantly fell in love with her...as did her brother. It was heart breaking when her mother came to collect her 2 weeks later. After that, we had many occasions to spend time with Millie and take care of her (free of charge, of course). In August, 2006, her mother had to relocate to the UK and asked us to take care of Millie for 6 months until her tests were completed and she could come fetch her and move her over as well. It wasn't a difficult decision, but the thought of giving her back after 6 months and then never seeing her again was a lot to take in. A few months after her arrival, Millie suffered two herniated discs and needed emergency surgery and a fairly lengthy hospital stay. Her mom, having just uprooted her entire life, could not afford the bills and recognized that putting her on a plane was no longer a safe option. So, it's not under the most pleasant circumstances that Millie came to be ours, but we'll take it. Bio: Millie was orignally rescued by Take Me Home. She was starving and abused.
