Wow! It's been that long since I wrote in my diary....

Life has been full of "life". We lost Baxter in March and Mom has been very sad. I don't like being in a 1 dog family either because I have no one to play with. Mom has decided we all need a new friend, and is bringing JoJo home Thursday. He is a AmStaff and kind of looks like me.

We hope all will go well and we will have a new addition to our family.

P.S. Baxter, we love you and miss you so much. If I could choose I would still have you for my big brother. I loved you :( your best friend and sis....

We graduated tonight... New brother tomorrow?

Tonight was the last night of dog training. I did pretty well in class, but still have attention problems. I guess you can say I have attention deficit disorder BOL! I'm very good at sitting, staying and heeling. I don't like down much and whenever someone approaches me or mom I can't help myself, I have to jump up to say hello!! Mom says we will have to keep working on that... don't know what her problem is, I just love everyone. I love to greet people and I know anyone that comes around is coming to see me!
Mom and dad have been thinking about adopting a dog from the place we took classes and dad has been working with him during class the last couple of weeks. Well tomorrow we pick him up, he is coming home to see how things go in our house. He has some known aggression problems but dad says he needs a loving home, and we live a pretty quiet life anyway. Once he gets to know you he's a big softie, just doesn't like strangers much. Mom and dad let me play with him tonight unleashed and we seem to get along okay. I play a little to rowdy for him, but he let me know when he had enough. We have decided to foster him for a few weeks and see how things go.
If we can all adjust they will adopt him and I'll have a forever brother. I'm so excited.

The wind in my hair....

We were driving to puppy class this evening and it was a nice night so mom let me ride up front with the window down. It was the first time I had my head out the window.... the wind blowing thru my hair... ears flapping in the wind. It was soooo much fun!!

We had a good time at puppy class. Our instructor is really good, and he is very patient with us. I had a hard time paying attention tonight. Dad took me out to our property for the week, so mom didn’t get to work with me much. Dad is taking me with him on a road trip tomorrow but promised mom he would work with me every day. Mom sure hopes so cause I was doing so good… and now I’m starting to slip!! We have a few more classes, so I need to buckle down. Mom wants me to go on to good canine classes, but I have to do well here first!!

My first Dog training class

Well tonight was my first dog training class!! There were 3 other dogs there, a BIG German shepherd, and 2 other mutts :). My mom and dad went last week without me, and have been working with me all week for my big debut. It was the first time I was around other dogs and I sure had fun. I wanted to play with the other dogs more then listen to mom and dad. We worked on sitting (I already know that one) and started working on heel. Mom thinks that will be a great one for me to learn, but I was a little confused tonight, she would tell me to sit and then heel, walk 2 steps and then sit again. Not sure who is going to get more training out of this me or my mom and dad. We get to go every week for 8 weeks. I fell asleep in the car I was so tired and have been nothing but a couch potato since I've been home. I think I'm going to like this time I get to spend with my mom, dad and all the other dogs!!

Where has my Mom Gone???

I have been in my new home a month now, I am really starting to settle in. I still have a few "accidents" but I try really hard to potty outside.
Just as I was getting to know my new Mom and Dad, Mom disappeared?? Dad tells me she had to go away for work but will be home Friday. (He also told me she is knitting me a sweater!!) I think it was supposed to be a surprise, but I get sooooo cold when I go outside. Dad told me I would have a new sweater on Friday. I can't wait to see it, it is pink and white so everyone will know I'm a girl :) Mom says she really misses Dad and me and can't wait to get home and give us both lots of kisses.

My mom is potty trained!!

Well I have been in my new home for 3 weeks now. I like it here, I am the PRINCESS!!! :)
Dad was in the hospital for 3 days (knee surgery) and I had to spend most of the day in the car :( Mom says I couldn't stay at home because I can't be "trusted" yet. (I potty in the house and make all kinds of noise, hee hee hee)

I got bored waiting for mom to come down every 2 hours and take me for a walk so to pass the time:
*I ate a roll of paper towels
*destroyed my dad's sunglasses
*and chewed the shifter knob.

Mom and Dad were not too happy so now they have my crate in the car. I like being in my crate when we go on trips and Mom and Dad seem happier too.
Today we went to a potluck for the Studebaker club Dad belongs to and I waited nicely in the car. When we got home I was so happy to be able to run and play :) but then I decided it was potty time!! I tried to tell Mom I wanted to go outside; sometimes my humans don't understand me.... I whined.... nothing.... I barked.... nothing.... then I got in my Mom's face and barked.... finally she says, "oh, do you need to potty?" Well, duh... what do you think I have been trying to tell you?? She finally takes me outside to do my business and is so happy that we comunicated. Sometimes my humans are so dense :)
I have learned many new things that seem to make my Mom and Dad happy. I have learned to sit, down, stay, leave it, and starting to understand "come". I tell you, learning this new language is hard on a pup! Mom and Dad say I am very smart:)

Getting settled

I have been in my new home for 3 weeks! My mom and dad are very good to me.
I have almost got the hang of this potty thing, everytime I go potty outside my mom and dad act like it's a big deal and I get so happy :)
Mom took me to the vet last week and got me "fixed" I didn't like that much, had to spend the night away from my home. I was so happy to see my mom when she picked me up the mext morning. Vet opened at 8:00 am and mommy was waiting at the door. I was the first one to go home. Mom tried to keep me quiet, but come on... a puppy has to do what a puppy has to do!
It's raining today, and I have been in the house pretty much all day. Mom has taken me outside for this potty thing. I have learned if I go really fast I can go back inside the warm house.... I hurry as fast as I can and then run back up the stairs.
I think its time for a nap, being a puppy is fun!
