A day in the life of Callie Sue

The summer of 2005

I've had a good summer this year. Mom takes me to the river almost every day. Twice on Sat's and Sun's (weather permitting).
I get to run the trails, go swimming, and fetch the stones she throws in for me. I can hold my breath a really long time until I find the exact stone she threw in. I even got to swim after some ducks. A couple of times they gave me a swim for the money. First down the river and then back up the river. Over and over, but I never could catch them. I sure had fun trying though.
It's one of my favorite places to go. I get to meet lots of other dogs there and since the hockey rink started up in August, I even have a pile of snow to roll and dig in. Very refreshing on a hot summer day.

Feb 27th 2005

I love weekend mornings. Mom has more time to spend at the park in the morning and I get to see many of my friends. During the week, my morning outings are too short because Mom has to work.
This morning I played with Mousse, Chelsea, and Madison. But it was soooo windy and cold we weren't out too long.

Yesterday, I met a new friend called Charlie. He's a 2 year old black English Lab. He's still a little too young for me and all he wanted to do was chase a ball. Boring.
Everyone was paying too much attention to him, so to divert their attention back to me, I ran and ran and ran. That did it. They applauded and called out to me, so I ran and ran again.
After all that running, I had a good roll in the snow.

In the afternoon, Mom and Alex took me with them on a trip to Concord. We stopped at this great place, Mom discovered last year, for a quick romp. I met two more new friends, 2 Great Danes, but I never did get their names.

On the way home we stopped at the park again. That's why I like the weekends. I get to go out more. :)
