Yeah! Mommy's back!

Well, she hasn't really been gone anywhere, except to the hospital a couple of times, but hasn't felt like typing for me or Tiny for awhile. But she's feeling lots better now and so we're back with a doggie-vengeance! Watch out, Silly Sentence Game! It's sure good to see all your wunnerful faces again....

A Miracle!

In the spirit of our group Pawayer and Pawraise, please join me in giving silent thanks (or shout it out loud!!) that the wonderful angels over in Montague country rescued a major puppy mill - 500 dogs and one goose (?). Now you gotta understand that it's been up to 108 - 110 degrees every day, and I'm not going into the gory details of this situation (go to trnonline.com to search for the story) except to say that these people had been in this business for 30 years, had it "all figured out" by making the front part of the property look nice...but don't look behind the privacy fence...no water, etc. I can't stand to hardly think about it, but all the furguys are safe in Fort Worth now, getting medical attention, vaccincations, and getting reading for loving homes! Thank you Lord, St. Francis, and all the other heavenly and earthly angels who had a hand in this wonderful rescue! Amen.

2. What kind of food do you eat? We're going through a food crisis, since I have severe itchies all the time - right now the Dick Van Patten food but that's about to change to ????

4. Do you have a Valentine or significant other? Yes, Miz Maggie, the farm girl from Ohio, who was my firstest real friend on Dogster.
5. Do you get Table Scraps? Yes I do. I always get a taste of what mom and dad are eating.
6. What is your favorite toy? My baby (who knew I had a maternal side?) is a stuffless stuffie that Miz Maggie sent me for Valentime. I carry it everywhere and run when somebody tries to take it from me.
7. When is your Birthday? I don't know, but mom and dad adopted me on June 15th. So that is my Gotcha day.
8. How many times a day do you get to eat? Once a day, except when I'm lucky and Mom gets up early she'll feed me kibble-and-cheese for breakfast.
9. What is your favorite color? What's a color?
10. Do you hope your friends will put this in their diaries? Yes, I do. I like to find out about all my pup pals.

I won again!

Well, I'm just about th' luckiest pup around, and gots to brag a little: Mom sent in the photo of me using the tennis ball for a pillow, to the Rachel Ray dogvice contest (I think she put something silly for advice like don't complain about your pillow if you get in Mom & Dad's bed...). We sent in several others, but just 'cause Rachel Ray was donatin' food for each postcard sent in....Then this nice lady called and said Mom had won a sterling silver bracelet and someone would be contacting us about engraving it and where to send it.

Any ideas on what to engrave? We were thinking "adotti non comprano" (adopt, don't buy) so people would ask what it meant and Mom could preach a little...

Anyway, Mom does so much for me, so it's nice to pay her back a little bit!

Pray for Baxter!

One of the most deserving and artistic doggies on dogster has been missing for a week! Please pray - and hard - that he is returned safely home - we can't imagine how his family must be worried, but the world is so wide and dangerous! Keep your thoughts focused on the mighty power of God, that He will send his sweet angels to lead Baxter safely back home!

Oh the indignity!...

Well pup buddies, this is a new one for me...if someone ever told me that people go around doing this - to DOGS! - Nice ones! - I wouldn't have believed it! I gotta go to the V-E-T (let's don't say the word) this afternoon, for an ...hmmmm......anal gland aspiration...From what Tiny says they always do it when they get groomed, but me, I'm so hansummm and rugged I don't need no stinkin' beauty shop - so this is what I get instead, cause there's been lots of scootin' on the carpet and bitin' and general bad behavior from me the last few days. So here I go, wish me luck! Ohhhhhhhhh...........................................

Need some GOOD news for a change?

Hi pupbuddies! I'm gonna find a forum to post this in, also, but thought I'd share it with you first...if you're as tired of bad news everywhere you look like we are, here's something good that happened this week (we didn't have anything directly to do with it, just thought it was a great effort):

Last week, the Rider High School Honor Society (Wichita Falls, TX) collected over $24,000 for the Humane Society there, in a project called Pennies for Pets, just going door-to-door & asking for donations. Now this isn't a great big group, only the honor society from one of the two high schools in a small city, so that's quite an accomplishment! No fancy gimmicks or contests (not that there's anything wrong with that approach either!), just see a need and (sorry, Larry the Cable Guy I refuse to say it...) get it done!

In other news, I had to ride for hours and hours in the car today - not one of those fun short trips like to the post office with my head hangin' out the window - and got vaccinated and microchipped with a lot of other strange dogs and cats that insisted on invading my personal space, at an event sponsored by the aforementioned Humane Society. I've been traumatized big time, no joke, so there better be lots of special treatment for me tonight, or else! well I don't know what "else" would be but, yeah that too!...

Rex Regis Valentine Canis I

Well, I may just about bust my buttons over this one - one of my very favoritest groups, P*I*F (Pay it Forward) has gone and selected me King Valentine the First!! I know it was a random drawing, but, hey, ya don't get very many chances at nothin but dust and more dust, out here on th' Lone Praireee! An' they're sendin' me a faincy photo with me in a crown and I don't know what all, but I'll get to post it on my page so youse pups watch out for it, in the next few days, and be sure to brag a little about it, ok? Then, in the mail today comes a box addressed just to me (well, me and Tiny) from my grrrllll Maggie all th' way up in Ohio, with rawhide treats and th' funniest stuffless stuffies - Mom says we'll all sit in th' floor tonight and play! This is th' very best Valentime ever!

1. What color is your collar?
The one I'm wearing right now is a very manly leather one with my name, made by someone we know who has a leather shop and then gave to us because Mom mails orders for him.

2. What kind of food do you eat?
We've been changing around, right now its Wellness Core kibble mixed with Avoderm Lite Chicken and Rice, and usually some carrots and/or peas mixed in.

3. What are your favorite treats?
When Mom gets up earlier than everyone else, I get up too and she fixes me some kibble with cheese on top!

4. Do you have a Valentine or significant other??
Well.....I hope it's going to be Miss Maggie who was my firstest and bestest friend on Dogster. I better get busy and get to asking!

5. Do you get Table Scraps?
Absolutely!

6. What is your favorite toy?
A bright pink doggie-size basketball, and I can play doggie soccer all by myself with it if nobody's around to throw it.

7. When is your Birthday?...
We don't know since I was rescued, so we celebrate on January 1st.

8. How many times a day do you get to eat?
We have our real supper, then a goodnight biscuit (dog treat) at bedtime (and then the special kibbles-and-cheese in the morning if I'm lucky).

9. Do you have a favorite color?
Whatever color sheets are on mom and dad's big bed...!

10. Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary?
I sure hope so. I know we has not always had time to do tags so I unnerstand if they dont.

Pennies from Heaven...

...do YOU believe in them? Mom got one today, here's the way it happened - - it being a special day and th' weather was really nice, so we drove out to th' cemetery to check on her mom and dad who have been there quite awhile. Mom spent a long time talkin' to her dad, who built the house where we live now - she's kinda worried about some major repair issues etc.

When we got home, she was putting th' Christmas decorations back in (what used to be) her dad's workshop, and there on the dirty dusty floor was a very shiny penny...It had the date 2003 on it, and NO dust or dirt - just shinin' and new, and that was the year Mom inherited the house...

She says her daddy was telling her to get after those repairs and stop worrying about them, and that he was still around to help, even if he's not "still around", ya know?
