Leave a bone for Chassis (a memorial)

Nicknames:
Pretty Girl; Little Girl

Quick Bio:
-purebred

Likes:
Having people to play with!!!! And Boating & Swimming of course. Going to our city's Dog Park. Choosing my favorite bandana (I have 2 dozen different themed ones)

Pet-Peeves:
Squirrels - they set on my fence and tease me ! Birds are just about as bad . I simply hate thunderstorms and stay in the bathtub until they are over. They scare me. I also don't like the vacuum cleaner or the electric swifter. Don't like brushings.

Favorite Toy:
"Fetch & Flash" a/k/a R-E-D ball (mom has to spell it so I don't get too excited) - it is motion activated and lights up...it's so cool. I give them away to my friends as presents. Also a horse "Jolly Ball".

Favorite Food:
Spaghetti, bacon, peanut butter, cheese, steak and anything but my dog food. I won't even eat from my bowl until Mom & Dad are finished with dinner - just in case I get some of their food. Wouldn't want to be too full to eat it. And of course ice cubes !

Favorite Walk:
At Gleason Park - where I can keep a watch out for the bunnies, squirrels and stray cats. I'm a great walker - everyone likes to walk me. Wish I could walk on the beach- but dogs aren't allowed - how sad - and we don't even make a mess like humans do.

Best Tricks:
Dead dog - when I don't want to go outside. Of course I can do the average sit, stay, down, shake, and wait - but the "dead dog" is my best. Ever try to drag a "dead" 100 pound shepherd?? I also yodel when you don't answer the phone by the 2nd ring.

Arrival Story:
I saw my parents looking thru the glass at the pet store. I sensed they wanted a special dog ...so I just gave them the most adorable look and flapped the ears. My paws were so big that I couldn't even run - so tumbled at them. Hey it worked - I got their attention, didn't I.

Bio:
My best friend is Molly a Shitzsu next door. I can even squeeze thru her tiny doggy door. I've also figured out how to open our gate (and hers too) so we can visit on our time schedule. My 2-legged sister went to college so now Mom & Dad really spoil me...since I'm the only one at home! New - Aug. - my newly adopted puppy - Roxie passed away after 13 days - I really loved her and took her as my baby. I watched her eat and let her sleep in my BIG crate while I squeezed into her SMALL crate. I'm still searching for her - she must be here somewhere? Mom, Dad, & my Sis - are all crying.....I was the only one there when she died - but laid right next to her until Dad got home. My vet said she had an unknown heart defect. It's just not fair..

Our girl is gone

Chassis, our beloved girl, passed away on Sunday, April 13th. Her health had been slipping on Thursday; she was not eating or drinking. Our first symptom was her legs slipping out from her. Our vet initially thought we were dealing with a spinal/neurological issue. Then Sunday eve she started with seizures and came out of it panicky and blind. Her breathing became shallow.

It was a hard decision to make, but we took her to the Emergency Vet to have her put down. She had such a look of lost dignity that we couldn't keep her that way. They now believe she probably had a brain tumor.

She was my great protector and by best friend. She will be missed. Such an emptiness and void exists.
