Just sending some love to you on your birthday! We miss you so much but know you're in safe keeping with our human brother Andrew looking after you. Tell him that you can now have all the ice cream and cake and treats that you want - BOL!!! Mom says it's ok for you. Darn, we don't get any here. Enjoy your party at the Bridge sweet sister.

Sisterly schnauzer love,
Georgie

Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving

Our pal Bella posted this in Schnauzers Rule today. So true and great for reminding us to be thankful for us pets!
~~~
Happy Thanksgiving to you. Thanksgiving is here - a time for family, food and football and the day set aside to give thanks for our blessings. Although world events may try to interfere with our feelings of thankfulness, it's necessary that we focus on all things good, and as always, what your pets add to your lives is good.
Here are six reasons why you should be thankful for your dog:
Love. If there's one thing you know, it's that your pet loves you. And if you love your pet, that love comes back to you tenfold.
Companionship . Your pet keeps you company, and that company helps you to feel less lonely and isolated, especially if you live alone. Coming home to your pet gives you something to look forward to.
Physical contact. When your dog nuzzles up next to you or licks your hand, all is right with the world. Studies prove that cuddling and stroking your dog is good for you; it makes you calmer and can even lower your heart rate and your blood pressure.
Someone to talk to. Talking things out relieves a lot of internal pressure. But having someone to talk to makes a difference, too. It makes you feel less lonely. Talk about anything - your pet will listen.
Motivation to exercise. Most pets need exercise every day. Whether it's walking your dog, to tossing a ball to your dog, you'll be getting some exercise, too. Physical exercise helps you to deal with stress and sometimes gives you the opportunity to get outside and breathe some fresh air.
Security. Some pets promote a feeling of safety. Your dog barks when he hears something out of the ordinary. But sometimes just having your pet nearby is enough to make you feel less anxious and more secure.
This Thanksgiving as we gather together to give thanks for our blessings, let's not forget our pets, those faithful companions that are such an important part of our lives.
Happy Thanksgiving!
~~~
And us pups are thankful for all that our pawrents do for us. And for our guardian angel sister Annie who looks after us. Licks and tail wags to all!

Murphy

Our family is so sad at the passing of my boypup Murphy. I don't even know what to write in my diary yet. I do want to say thank you for being a part of my life. Your mom has been such a support to so many others in their times of distress, I hope we can adequately be there for her to help ease the pain.

Here are some poems for my Murphy.

GOD'S GARDEN

God looked around His garden
And He found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your precious face

He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest;
God' s Garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew you' d never ever
Get well on earth again.

So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered " Peace be thine "
Then He took you up to Heaven
With Hands so gentle and kind.

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God welcomed you home.

IF TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRWAY

If tears could build a stairway
and memories a lane.
I would walk right up to heaven
and bring you back again.

No farewell words were spoken.
No time to say "Goodbye"
You were gone before we knew it
and only God knows why.

My heart still aches with sadness
and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you.
No one can ever know.

But now I know you want me
to mourn for you no more.
To remember all the happy times
life still has much in store.

Since you will never be forgotten
I pledge to you this day.
A hallowed place within my heart
is where you will always stay.

I love you Murphy and you will live on in the hearts of those who love you!

Happy New Year!

Whew, we posted the Highlights of 2008 in our Schnauzers Rule Group on New Years Eve. It was really fun to review all that happened over 2008. If mom hadn't been so busy painting etc. our guest rooms, she would've had more time to write about more stuff! Actually, it's a really active group and there was a lot to review. It was fun to see what our group was up to. Thank goodness that SAMSON started the Schnauzer Scoop or we wouldn't have remembered half of it!

Mom and Dad were up REaLLY late last night. Every one slept in until 9am, ate at 10am, and walks didn't even start until around noon. Is this any way to start a new year...apparently mom thinks it was a luxury. Humph...keeping to my schedule is a luxury.

I heard mom is going out of town for a couple of days. I never like that, but Vickie will come to stay with us. We like her! Then we're going to have a lot of visitors for the rest of the month. We're excited that amongst the visitors is my human sister & her baby. Mom brought in this wierd contraption to trap the baby - it's a seat with all these wierd toys attached. It was funny to watch Finnegan sneaking up on it to see what the heck it was. But if it keeps the rugrat from wandering around my dog bed, I'll be happy!

These are my new years resolutions as posted in Schnauzers Rule:
promise to nap as much as possible with mom or dad, be happy every time mom or dad comes home, walk at a pace that Molly is comfortable, and ignore the brothers as much as possible. I know I can keep all of those!!!

Well, time to go snooze next to mom. Oh, and Happy New Year everyone.

Murphy is Schnauzer of the Year

I am so grateful to everyone voting for Murphy as Schnauzer of the Year in our Schnauzers Rule group. My angel boypup deserves it! He & his mother have always been so kind and gracious to others ~ always offering support, checking in with friends to see how they're doing, and adding positive messages in the group. It's also fitting that even though he just crossed the Rainbow Bridge, that he be recognized for his contributions to our group and to Schnauzerdom. Thank you Murphy for all you and your mom contribute. We love you!

Secret Pal Week

[ View A Comments ]

In honor of Secret Pal Day on an Jan 11, 2009, I started a game in Schnauzers Rule. This is a game that I saw in the dogster forum and thought it would be fun!!! After everyone who wanted to play signed up, I randomly picked a secret pal for every one of them. For the Week of Jan 11-17 each pup with a secret pal surprised them with all sorts of virtual gifts, links, pictures, etc.

I helped forward things as a secret pal helper on behalf of secret pals in order to keep their ID a secret. Everyone was advised to treat their pal as they would want to be treated if they were short on rosettes! Many pups decided to play Dogster's Dog Breed Game so they could win lots of rosettes, then they sent them to their pals. That is SO cool!

Today on the 17th, we are revealing secret pals. It seems everyone loved playing and I think it's developed some new friendships!!! That's what we're all about. Woo hoo...success!!!
