Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks?!?

To whomever posted the rosette and beautiful photo of Checkers at the rainbow bridge - thank you. I am touched by the effort you went to for Checkers and his loved ones. I have been missing him more than usual the last couple of days...through you I think he stopped by to visit one last time.

In Memory of Checkers

Checkers was our companion for almost 14 years - since shortly after my husband and I started dating. We miss him every day, in every thing we do - from stepping out of bed in the morning (I used to have to make sure I didn't step on him), to getting the mail, to going to bed at night. He will be remembered forever in our hearts, and the hearts of all his family and friends who loved him.

Where's my Christmas???

So - my mom and dad and all their family took a really nice cruise the whole week before Christmas. And they didn't even bring me - can you believe it! I love being on boats, seeing new places, and eating lots and lots - all the fun stuff they got to do without me.

Oh well - I got to spend most of the time at Cooper Camp with Jan and Jake. Jake scares me sometimes, but Jan is really nice so I have a good time. And then the last night, I stayed home and Diana came to visit. That was all fun, but I sure was glad when my people came home! Except, they were all worn out from their trip, so they didn't want to play much, or eat much...and they didn't even exchange presents, or have ANY presents for me!!!

I didn't even get a shirt that said "All I got for Christmas is this lousy t-shirt." Did I get gypped or what?!?

Yippee! It's COLD out!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I sure love it when it's cold. I feel like a young man again! My mom was worried I was going to pull her down on the ice - but I stayed on the crunchy white stuff and I was fine. The only problem is, it seems like our walks get a LOT shorter. Wonder why that is?

A bark out to all my new pals!

Wow - I never thought I'd make so many friends so fast...all without leaving the comfort of my bed! I love meeting you pups...and thanks for all the bones! (My mom is very glad they're only virtual bones...she doesn't like when I eat too many and then "return" them to her!)

Look at me! My very own blog!

Well - I'm pretty proud of myself. My mom just got into the blogosphere, and I decided to get one of my own. I love this website, and making friends with so many other cool dogs. *Grin*

I may be old, but I've still got a lot of pep. (Hint: Metacam is the miracle drug...get your mom or dad to hook you up!) I'm looking forward to sharing my adventures. They're not what they used to be - I was a real hellraiser back in the day - but I still like to have a good time!
