Well, the good news is that I've recovered nicely. The bad news is I'm missing most of my beloved left ear. Thanks to the Akita down the street. There I was, minding my own business while the humans were talking when our neighbour lunged at me. She almost took her guy right off his feet.
Once he got her off of me, I ran to my mom and told her we had to go home now. Luckily, she saw all the blood and agreed with me. We are close to the Calgary North Vet Clinic and so we (she) raced me there. She was driving very close to the car in front of us and when the car pulled into the same vet clinic and the lady got out, we thought she might be mad at us for following so close, but then she saw the blood all over me and my mom's face and shirt and decided to let us go in ahead of her.
After my mom left me with the vet, the Akita's family showed up because they were worried about me. They kindly paid the vet for all her services. They felt bad because they really like me and pet me all the time. Their girl is never friendly to me, though, so I try to stay away from her.
And I haven't seen her since. Not on the pathways or on the street.
My pop is calling me Georgie now - something to do with Harry Potter. He was away when it happened but came back to be with us as soon as he heard.
I'm lucky, I'm told. Could have been worse. Just the ear and a gash in my neck. But I bit her back - gave her a fat lip. I am also told (by my humans) that I am still the most beautiful girl dog on the entire planet. I'm ok with that.
