Swimming is Scary, Yet Fun!!!!

Wow! What a fun night! Mom and Dad took me swimming in the pool for the first time, even though the condo Nazis don't allow dogs in the pool. I don't worry about stuff like rules, but Mom and Dad do a little bit. Nevertheless, they took a chance and boy am I happy they did! It turns out I'm a great swimmer! I perfected the doggy paddle within two seconds and swam all over the pool! Dad waded into the pool with me in his arms and then turned me loose. I swam right over to Mom and then swam back to Dad. After swimming about twenty laps, I got out of the pool and ran around the courtyard for awhile. I don't get much of a chance to run without a leash but Mom said it was ok since the fence bars were narrower than my body. I ran and ran until I got dried off, and then I got back into the pool and swam some more! I think I love swimming! Unfortunately, due to the condo Nazis, I must swim under the cloak of darkness, when all of the Nazis are asleep and drunk on pills and booze. I hope Mom and Dad take me swimming again real soon! I was so pumped up after the swim, I wanted to spend some "special time" with my boyfriend Bobo, a large stuffed bulldog. I love swimming!

Here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

Here are 7 fun facts about me!

1. A la Afro Ken, I think I will begin with my name, which over the year has taken on a life of it's own (as you can see by my myriad of nicknames). On my birth certificate (AKC Papers) my name is Cricket of York. My mom thought that sounded quite British and elegant...needless to say no one calls me that. My mom and dad call me Crick-Crock, because before I was born my mom was in Italy and she fell in love with these potato chips called ....you guessed it...Crick-Crock, she said the chips were good, but her favorite part was the mascot who looked like Mr. Potato Head (apparently her favorite toy as a little girl), Crick-Crock also flows, quite smashingly with my last name (Hassebrock) my Dad is german.
I have many nicknames, but Crick-Crock...I feel, is my true name.

2. I love hair accessories, mom is very particular to NOT put things in that she calls "tacky" but if I had my way I'd wear feathers and bling...as I did during my Mardi Gras photo shoot....

3. I love to get leashed up to go for walks. Mom says,"Crick-Crock outside"? I turn my head 45 degrees to the right, and launch onto a cube/seat thingy in front of our giant fish tank where mom hooks me up and then were off!!!

4. I love dressing up, if we go anywhere mom always has an appropriate outfit for the occassion, she likes to sew so she makes me some cute stuff, I recently got a new sweater knitted by Afro Ken's mom, it's Hello Kitty and I can't wait to wear it this fall with some leg warmers!

5. I go everywhere with my mom, I even have a "carseat". My mom took a beautiful weaved basket, stuffed it with pillows and then added my pink ballet blanket and then my fluffy bed, white fur on one side (for chilly days) and on there other side, pink waterproof plaid (for summer or rainy days). It's in moms front seat and when I sit on it I can see out the window, other drivers wave and honk as they are completely enthralled by my cuteness and charisma.

6. Even though I am a princess, I love to dig in the dirt...I am a terrier to the core and as you can see by my most recent photo, mom caught me in the act.

7. When I am a bad girl...and mommy says, "Bad Girl", in her MEAN tone. I run up to her, wrap my paws tightly around her neck and give her a tight hug, to say "I'm sorry". I have also been known to this when Daddy gets sad (movies and commercials really have an affect on him)...for a big lug, he's very emotional.

I am tagging:
Dutch (my mom's sisters dog/ my 1st cousin)

Home Depot Rules!!!!

Wow, I think my new favorite spot is the Garden Center at Home Depot! Mom & Dad took me there today, I couldn't believe it. I mean one of my favorite things to do is help mom garden (indoors & out), I admit, I'm a digger... but today there was soooo much dirt I didn't know where to start. All types of dirt, I began sniffing the mulch; then next to that was potting soil, then my new FAVE.... cow manure, it's better than goose poop!!!! Best of all there were little sprinkles of all of the above on the ground, so not only could I sniff everything I could also perform a taste test!!!!! Yum Yum. There was some human there with a hose soaking down all the plants and some of the other shoppers, Mom & Dad managed to avoid the water, but mom kept calling that guy a "crazy teenager", my tootsies got a little wet & dirty....which absolutely THRILLED me, mom didn't seem to mind, either. I actually saw another dog there but his family was carrying him...too bad, so sad. We stayed for a long time and mom & dad filled the back seat of the car with a bunch of flowers and some yummy bags of dirt!!! I was so tired, I slept in moms arms on the way back home. To all the other dogs out ther....if you get a chance go to a garden store...it rocks!

Wow, I love trips!

I have finally decided to start a diary after several months on dogster. Thank Dog my mom got off the computer long enough for me to have a chance to get this message to all of my fans! Well, I went to Chicago over the weekend and had a totally pawsome time. There is nothing like running full speed through the halls and corridors of The Hilton, mom & dad couldn't even catch me, they had to wait until I relaxed a bit...what do those loonies expect, after keeping me in the car for 5 hours, geez! The trip up wasn't bad though, I had my cousin Dutch with me so it could have been worse, but I will tell you we can't play together...everytime I try his mommy (my moms sister) picks him up ..... she is over protective...she will never let me play with him ON MY TERMS. She is always holding him like he is a baby or something, I mean, doggonit, he is 4 and I'm 1...isn't he grown up enough yet to play...I finally gave up! Mom and dad kept taking me to this really cool park across the street from our hotel, it was beautiful. I really enjoyed peeing there. I like Chicago because I love to feel the wind in my fur and it was really windy up there!!! All in all it was a fun weekend. Bye for now, Crick Crock
