Barack Obama’s first press conference as US President-elect came with an apology attached on Friday, as he phoned former First Lady Nancy Reagan seeking forgiveness over a “careless” crack about her conducting seances. “President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan to apologise for the careless and offhanded remark he made during today’s press conference,” The Obama transition team spokeswoman Ms Stephanie Cutter, said in a statement a few hours after the briefing.
“The President-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Ms Reagan that so many Americans share, and they had a warm conversation,” she said.
Mr Obama, known for his gift of oratory on the campaign trail, seemed out of character when he made the gaffe at his first press con ference since winning the presidency, after he was asked if he had spoken with any former living Presidents to prepare for the job.
“Obviously, President Clinton — I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any seances. I have re-read some of Lincoln’s writings, who’s always an extraordinary inspiration.” On a lighter note, Obama later said he had promised his daughters a puppy after the election, but finding one is proving to be a bit of a challenge.

Mini pomm speaks…hai..bow..wow…in continuation & our endless woes…despite which our lives go on…not so bad….it is an anguish wait till my human mom reaches home …the roads are lined up on both the sides with strings of shops and buildings. There are so many petty traders doing small business in their matchbox sized shops yet acting so rude/arrogant with my human mom. Why? Lots of silly gossip due to her single divorcee status for 18yrs and that too exposed to varied classes while dealing with public money in the bank for over two decades. The duping tactics adopted by the petty shopkeepers or cashiers of supermarket is to take the money and after sometime attack saying that less money was paid. In the short time these cheats hide or conceal the note(s) and demand extra money. This is how on regular basis my human mom is attacked, abused and threatened by milk supplier, auto driver, cashier named mallesh of gharonda supermarket and recently the ambica stores shopkeeper named mohan kumar. In the beginning my human mom was so flabbergasted and stunned to react when the crooks attack her at the end of a tiring day. The motive of these crooks is a meaningless politicization and/or an intent to defame her or exploit or w.r.t. several prejudices/bias surrounding us. There is no end to such maniacs harrassing my human mom who has to manage A to Z tasks all on her own. I am also her only friend here and I sit on her lap and listen to the daily dosage of harrassments meted out on her. What is more the shameless impotent indians deny her services and also trouble her by refusing to sell. Thus she is subjected to roam streets and visit several shops for days, weeks until the sadists had belly full of sneering and jeering. That is sadism in the indian society to trouble a lady over every basic item. It was the case with a mixer, or books or any such small essential items. Even to get passport size photos from photo studios is tedious. Deliberately, one of them says the machine is not working or the other studio delays or donot offer good qualitative service. Simply awesome …..life drudges on…..HELP! My human mom facing bad decades after decades…..on daily basis in everything she has to do…..let indians rot in hell... Vets too can be biased....

TRESPASS GOING ON IN BROAD DAYLIGHT

All complaints about trespass are in vain. My predecesors the show quality dobbermanns too had bear the confusion caused by TRESPASSERS. Now me the kutty puppy too have act diplomatic and dance to these TRESPASSERS tune while my human mom is away to work.

Somehow i manage to convey about these TRESPASSERS by showing changes in my behaviour and actions. When the flat owner knocked on our door the other day, i kept barking aloud and aloud , "yes she doesnot smell familiar, she is somewhat new", but when the immediate neighbours in the adjacent flats appear, i signal by wagging my tail and twitching my tiny black nose near the door. "Yes they are known and i also express fear when this short watchman named Rambabu knocks on the door. Immediately, I open my eyes wide at my human mom and rush inside the cage or under the cage. Yes he is used as a tool by these TRESPASSERS to intrude into and create havoc in our lives so far. Poor human mom is being TORTURED in this manner for twenty years, we also fall sick if we buy food from hotels and so on, it is terrible here and we are so scared and need to be alert and cautious"........

Statement of Fact

Animal Rights or for that matter any other law is a mere sham and a whitewash here in India. Any law and order is ineffective without adequate support. The few cases that surface through the media are most of the time concocted versions and fake to stir up a news by the media.

In reality what seems to be more effective are the illegal and unlawful criminal acts by people who all enjoy impunity. My human Mom feels like a victim threatened by extortionists in the guise of businessmen or professionals like advocates or doctors. Her recent experience with the Motor Driving Schools here like the Hind School headed by a Punjabi or the Varsha School headed by the gangster types. As a consequence all her efforts are wasted for want of a mere license due to the politicial hostility and extorting tactics adopted. There appears no scope for dialogue or legal recourse but simply to swallow the loss due to the threats imposed by the above gangster type driving schools.

Orelse it is mere social sadism towards a single working woman alongwith me a tiny pet. People in India are averse and show negative attitude towards single women. Sometime back the apartment occupants had the zest of their life by tampering the power metre and disrupting the electricity amenity. The same type of harassment has continued for the last two decades but without adequate recourse or remedy. Trespassing is another serious crime that goes unchecked and we are without help.

Even if I approach the Court or the police it is simply ineffective and my pet and I tortured and threatened all the more. But still we keep trying for justice. It should be like “diamond cuts a diamond”. Similarly such criminal tendency people should be fed with their own feed of threats.

"I feel so sad that all my dreams of getting a ride in the car with my single human Mom may not happen" sob..sob...
....but I like My Mom's untiring effort and not giving up so easily. She continues to try.........

NO HELP HERE 4 US....

...it is shocking that we r not able 2 get any genuine help or service...all r corrupt esp the advocates who all take money and offer deceitful service...we r struggling 2 survive......i am a sad pet when my human mom goes to work,,,i can't understand y i donot eat when she cooks fresh in the mornings...Is some neighbour crooks doing something to me? ,,,,,anyway it was nice and great 2 have her stay for three weeks at home with me...24/7

we hope to muster support....it is horrifying that even social service offices etc simply donot bother to support even if it is mutual help. my human mom is ready 2 pay fees but we r not getting reliable help or service.....

it is hopeless here in india for us....we r stifled, oppressed and suppressed without justice.......but she is trying and trying.....desperately to get help from the crooks eating our money and how r we to get rid of these parasites?

.....my kutty over one year old now, the 5th May 2007,,,,,,,but we r not left in peace at the rented gharonda veera apt in padmaraonagar secunderabad-25. The power supply sabotaged and denied access to the metre room by the apartment association and others. terribly tortured in the scorching summer heat.....my pet kutty too has to suffer bcoz the indians here r totally prejudiced.....and r sadists. In india single women living alone r considered as bad omen and this social evil still prevalent in india. Many do not like pets or dogs.
......also threatened to be locked out or inside.....door bolted from outside and left without much food or water for 5days.....both kutty & I lost weight and sick...............however the power restored only after screaming and calling up for help several times........outcome sick and at home ...still under threat....
.......kutty & I r surviving on day to day basis.....no help in india.....even as an indian I HATE THIS COUNTRY 4 TORTURING US.....

....kutty the one year old pet has not been eating properly since 10th April and I am unable to understand the problem. From past experience with my dobermanns for 15yrs I suspect my kutty to be under attack by vile/evil persons motivated for money/property or just meaningless politics. Whatever the baseless flimsy reasons, it amounts to animal abuse/cruelty.
