Arrival Story:
My sister and Dad were coming home from her soccer game when they saw a little fair and decided to stop. Apparently there was a pet adoption day there by the group Animal Haven, and they checked it out. They fell in love with Tara right away and called home to say they wanted to adopt her. My mom agreed and a couple days later, the organization brought her to our house. She got along with my dog Molly and our cats, so we were allowed to adopt her!

Bio:
Tara was abandoned on the streets of the Bronx when she was found. She had been shot in the back by a BB gun and was still healing when we got her. She was still very skittish and even years later, would cower when we tried to pet her on the head. She was still very affectionate and loveable, though she did have a tendency to whine a lot. Because of her abuse and abandonment, she still got scared when people tried to pet her and she was always trying to hoard all the food/water in the house as if she would never get any more again. She had a problem with leaking, as a result of her bladder probably being nicked during her being spayed, and unfortunately she had to wear diapers most of the time. RIP Tara- 7/30/06 My beloved Tara: you were taken from us far too soon. We only were blessed with you for a short three years and I never knew how fast it would go by. I would give anything to have you back in my life. You were an amazing dog and it's so hard now that you've been gone. I love you so much.
