Strange man in my backyard...

OH boy I almost had him today!!!! I barked my toughest bark and growled my meanest sounding growl to stop him from coming in the yard but he just kept on. It works with the girl who looks at the back of the house but this guy tried to be friendly to me. I didn't like the funny shaped box in his hand so I growled some more. Mom heard me and came outside. She just laughed at me. For some reason she just doesn't think I'm a very tough dog... and then this guy has the nerve to pick up a tennis ball and throw it to me!!! Can you believe that? Of course I caught it but I kept growling. Then he picked up another one and threw it to me! Didn't phase me at all... I kept barking with the ball in my mouth. The guy said something about having a four-pounder at home who acted the same way, not sure what he was talking about. A four pound tennis ball? What fun is that???? Oh well, there's always time! I know he'll be back!!!! Mom says he's here every month - called him something like "the electric man"..... I'll be waiting.....

Yummmm.... corn flakes!

Today I left Mom a great surprise for when she comes home for lunch! The trash can was left open so I decided to get out the corn flakes that she used for dinner last night and spread them all over the floor! And of course I won't eat them because they're on the floor and they're dirty, but I made sure to spread them out nice and wide so she can't miss them! Hope she likes it!!!

(but just in case, I'm going to go sleep on the bed and act like it wasn't me!)

It's My Birthday!!!!

Yea! Today's my birthday! I'm now officially 2!!! Mom's been baking the last couple of nights and it sure smells good. She let me sample the cookies she made, the peanut butter ones were YUMMY and I didn't like the other ones too much. I got a cake too but don't get that till the paw-ty tonight. This year we're having a small paw-ty with Grandma and Cody instead of the BIG pawt-y we had last year. I think I'll have to talk Mom back into a big paw-ty next year! Can't wait to see what she got me. Lots of good smells coming from those birthday bags!!!

Time for Swimming!

Mom took me to the pool last night! At first I wasn't interested in the water because there were so many dogs to check out. Finally she coaxed me into the water but I wasn't going to swim. I kept panicking and wanting to get to higher ground. Didn't help that I jumped in and got water up my nose. That wasn't any fun.

Eventually I got the hang of it and started playing fetch with Mom. I even tried to take some of the other dogs toys. We didn't get to stay too long because Mom had to go do something called an interview. All I know is that she was gone for a long time. At least when she came home we got to go for a car ride with the windows down. That was nice... the wind in the ears... fresh smells... people to stare at in other cars...

Sure wish we could go play in the pool again tonight. Maybe Mom will take me to the lake instead!

The beach!!! The Sand! The Water! I love it all!!!

I've been back from vacation about a week now and mom finally let me on the computer. It was so exciting out on the OBX! I loved the sand and the water and especially the house mom stayed in. I flew up and down the stairs all that first night. Mom and Grandma thought I was funny when I'd jump off the stairs. The whole house would shake!

Nothing was more fun then when they took me down to the water. I'd run and play in it then a wave would come in and I'd run toward the sand! Mom never let me off my leash so I didn't get to go chase the birds. They were just daring me to come after them... mom's arm just about came off when I took off after a seagull!

It's here!

It's finally time to go on this thing called vacation. Still don't know what it is, but Mom says I'm going to have fun on the beach. My "box" is already packed so I have the run of the house today. I'll be a good boy so Mom doesn't have a big mess to clean up when she gets home. Uncle Cody is staying at my mom's brother's house. Too bad he doesn't get to go... I'd show him how to have a good time out there! I practiced being a good boy last night when Mom went to a graduation... all I did was pick out a pair of socks from the laundry. : )

Mowing the lawn...

I got to help Mom mow the yard last night!!! It was so fun. I followed her back and forth for a while and then started wandering the yard looking for my tennis ball. She must have run over it though... it's got a big hole in it. Guess which one is my favorite now! : ) What I found really funny is that Mom stepped in some poo that she missed when cleaning up the yard. I just smiled back at her when she turned and looked at me.

We went for a car ride last night too! Mom only allows me to put my nose out the window, not my whole head.... so I end up looking like a little kid with my paws hanging over the door and my nose sticking out. Lots of people smile at me! It felt so good to ride after all that hard work.

Busted...

Mom caught me today doing one of my favorite things... I was running 90 miles and hour back and forth behind the house. I go from one end to the other as fast as I can. It's terribly fun especially since it's raining and we can't go for our usual walk. Anyway, she looks out the window and says "what are you doing???" So I slid to a stop and non-chalantly went and picked up a tennis ball and looked at her like "i'm just ready for you to play". I wish mom wouldn't catch me doing silly things like that.

She's also started talking about something called a vacation. I don't know what it is but she's sure excited about it. Today she asked me if I was ready to go play in some water and some sand... sure hope she was talking about the big pond of water! I love that place!!! There is also a big box with a handle attached that has lots of clothes in it. The only time we use that is when we're staying the night at grandma's. I wonder what's going on????

SNOW!!!!!

It finally snowed here! I vaguely remember it from last year when I was a couple months old. My mom and I were visiting my cousin Nicky (she's a bird dog with just as much energy as I have!!!) and all this white stuff started falling from the sky. I didn't want to go outside when it was all coming down. The next morning I realized what it was and ran out to play! Nicky and I ran and ran in the back yard through all that snow. Mom and "Grandma" and Nicky's family were in the front yard throwing this stuff at each other. Mom started throwing some at me and I'd catch it. It didn't taste very good and it was really cold so I'd spit it back out. It sure was fun jumping to catch the snowballs. There was more white stuff that fell last weekend but mom wouldn't let me run in it. Something about slipping and hurting myself and it would be very expensive to fix me...

Friday I got in BIG trouble with Mom. I tried to run away and make new friends. She yelled and said something about the road and to come back, so to make her happy I came back home. I knew I was in trouble for doing that but I couldn't resist! I got stuck back in the house until Grandma came to pick us up to go see my cousin.

We're back home now and I'm trying to find my tennis balls in the snow... it's hard work!
