Well.......I sometimes get into trouble because I like to chew things that I'm later told aren't toys. I really like television remote controls but they hide them from me.

Favorite Walk:
I love running and I also I like taking long walks in the park down the street, there are woods and lots of bunnies and squirrels I can look at. Daddy won't let me "play" with them but I love watching!

Best Tricks:
Waiting for Daddy to leave so I can be with MOMMY!! First, I see him pick up his wallet and glasses. Then, when I hear his car keys I get excited. When the door closes I surprise Mommy by almost knocking her over, she really loves it....right Mommy???!!!

Arrival Story:
Zak's full name is Kel Jakuba Zakara 'n Simoon which I've been told means "Brave One". Anyone who has ever met Zak will tell you that he runs (usually into mommy) at the smallest hint of danger (this is why we call him Scooby). No matter, he's my big overwhelmingly loving boy. My foray into sight hounds started several years ago with my husbands Borzoi Sascha and a rare breed book that had a picture of a beautiful dog that was completely unknown to me, it was an Azawakh. I always thought about this dog but never once did I think I would share my house with one. Little did I know that Kel Simoon Azawakhs was barely an hour and half from where we lived. One day on a whim, my family visited and Zak happened to be up for adoption. About a month later Zak came to live with us and the rest is history. Everyone has a breed that's meant for them and I found mine with the Azawakh.

Bio:
It was love at first sight. Daddy jokes sometimes that Zak and I tricked him, but Zak really is my best most loyal friend. Zak had a brief stint in the show ring placing first in puppy class at the 2004 National Azawakh Specialty when he was about 9 months old. Today, the only "showing" Zak does involves posing for pictures on "his" bed and arriving in a timely fashion for dinner. Zak is also too clever for his own good. When he sets his mind to figuring out doors and simple locks, he will usually have it open in a matter of an hour to maybe a day. Mostly though he just wants to please his Mama.

Mom: Zak, move over...let me sit down!

Zal: Whaaat......I couldn’t hear you....

Mom: I said move over!

Zak: I still can't hear you......whaaaaat was that again??

Mom: (getting annoyed) MOVE!

Zak: What???

Mom: Why do I even try, neither of you come when I call, you all never really talk to me with the exception of complaining and now I can't even sit on the couch......Damn sighthounds!

Zak: (looking at Mom as if he was in an aquarium) I.......CAN'T..... HEAR........ YOU!

Mom: Sure....OK, like I'm going to fall for the selective hearing loss trick again for the eleventeenth time.

Zak: Look women, I'm underwater, I'm can't swim and I'm going to drown!


Zak lays his head upon the couch, lifting his ear exposing what looks to be a miniature farm, complete with vegetation, small animals and a possible horse drawn carriage.

.......Mom make funny noise.


Mom: Have you ever heard of the story "Peter and the Wolf"?

Zak: Have YOU ever heard of medical intervention!!!


Poor baby got a NASTY ear infection out of nowhere! Got drugs and guess what, he's STILL got the couch. AMAZING how LOOOONG he can make himself.

Zak: We seem to have some extra zealies...what to do, what to do!!

Mom: Can't you be selfless and give them away??

Zak: OK...What's in it for me??

Mom: That's not that what Selfless means! What if you had pup's tell you why they deserve a star.... you know, like a game!!

Zak: Yeah, that's it!! I could grade them on creativity, originality, honesty...punctuation...BOL!

Mom: Well that settles it!!

Zak will be awarding his extra zealies in the form of a star to the five deserving pups. It's simple.... paw mail us your reasons, story poem...whatever! If it makes him laugh, cry, thump his head or (DOG forbid) pee himself with joy- you get a star.
