Favorite Toy: She loves stuffies and has many. She likes them all, but one of her favorites is a big fluffy pink ball.(And of course she loves to play with her "sister" Shea)

Arrival Story: Well after my old dog past on and my son was older and my daughter Katie was old enough to handle a dog. I was looking for a Irish setter. But Could not find one! But i finnally found a local golden breeder but since I was younger I did not know the horrors of backyard breeders.
We went to the lady's house she was a older ladie. We went to the back yard and looked for a puppy there were 4 boys and one girl we wanted a boy but my daughter fell in love with the runt of the litter. Maxie.(she is definatly not a runt anymore!She grew fast and is still a horse!) We are very glad we chose Max she is a joy and we love her very much.
I did feel bad getting her from a backyard breeder but soon after owning Maxie I started work in GRR (Golden Retriever Rescue) which I volunteered in for many years from there.
Bio: Maxie Is Often mistaken as a Irish setter because since she came from a Backyard Breeder her fur is very Red. She also has alot of white around her eyes and snout (mostly because she is a older baby) And a split on her chest, she is very tall and fairly big.

Maxie was a very naughty puppy. See we got Maxie I think when my daughter Katie was 5 She was so happy to have a dog of "her" own, (even though Maxie is the family pup) Maxie was very rough with Katie she would play with her by biting her and pulling down to the dirt and tackiling her. She also ate a entire pan of brownies when she was younger. Luckily for us she has grown out of most of her naughty habbits.

Maxie LOVES stuffies. She knows better then to steel stuff that she knows she can not chew up but once in a while she still does. Everytime we have company over she runs and grabs the nearest stuffed toy to chew and show off. She may be a older gal but she doesn't know it.

Spring & Summer of 2007
Both girls have started to get hot spots, and pink eye. Maxie has very bad hot spots but she will be okay we have very good meds from a very good Doctor that they will be taking. And her eye infection is almost cleared.

KU made it!Final four baby, oh yeah we beat North Carilina!We are in the championship against Memphis.It shows tonight @ eight.Now North Carolina put up a good game (even though if Katie or dad saw me & mom writing this they would beg to differ BOL!)But they went down & so did Roy Williams (b000!) nananananananananana---. *Sigh* mom says this isn't lady like behavior & since I am Lady Maxine I have to act as if I have some manners (BOL).Well anywho I can't wait to see KU win the championship, but I have to admit Memphis is a good team & may be hard to beat.But the Jay-hawks can take them!

Holy barking cats, it's been a while since I have barked! Well I guess I should start off were my last diary ended. My pal Morgan won.......third place! Wooohoo! Not bad not bad! Now if you thought that was good news here is some even better news.......................KU beat North Caralina in the final four baby! Rock-Chalk-Jaw-Hawk!So the family is pretty happy about that. we hope KU goes all the way. So I will keep my paws crossed that we beat Memphis on Monday! Okay now time for some sad news.About a week ago my friend,my neigbor,my fellow Golden, and a GRR rescue buddy Sophie passed away.She was about my age maybe about a year older but wasn't slowing down at all!We used to play together alot especially when we were little woofers, and we always gave sniffs through the sniff when her owner walked her up to te fence here & there. I also loved to bark with her when Joana (her two year old JRT mix brofur), her mommy, and herself would go on their daily walks. We didn't even know until a couple of days ago mom,dad, and Kate noticed Soph's mom walking only little Joana. Mom ended up asking about Sophers and learned that Sophie had died about a week ago very suddenly.She had become very sick all of a sudden they rushed her to the vet only to find out that she had cancer in her liver.Before they could do anything at all-if they could- Sophie gave her mom one last kiss and crossed the rainbow bridge.I miss her, I know her entire family misses her, and of course wittle Joana.Jo was found about two years ago, he had been tossed in a storm drain up by the local school! Sophie's human boy Russel was up there & herd his barking.There were a few older kids around who helped him rescue the small black & white terrier mix.Russ brought him home and it was love at first sight.But they were afraid Sophie wouldn't aprove with her getting to be a old fart.But she told Joey that she was boss and in minutes they were snuggling and playin like they knew eachother for years! Well I know Soph is a bootiful angel in heaven and is running with all my beloved pals at the bridge & is watching over me and Shea-Shea.

Ugh. Yesterday was beauitful adn today............BLECK! Water,cold,muddy! But we are supposed to get alot of snow tonight :) But last time they said that.....nothin! Well one of my GRR (golden retriever rescue) buddies who's mom worked with my mom when we helped alot w/ the rescue is in a contest! Please help my golden buddy Morgan! Thank you so much. Oh and yes we are out of plus, last year our dear beloved pal Spike gave us plus ( I know he is so kind & sweet!) but that was a year ago on the fourth. We can't fit plus in our budget sadly,so no more plus.But we had a fantastic year! OMD! THANK YOU ALL!
