I'm having hormone problems - can you help me?February 18th 2009 7:32 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Hi Buttercup is almost three years old and was spade before she was one. Just recently she has shown signs of a "false heat" and she has enlarged nipples, swollen vulva and licks hereself downthere about once an hour. There is a little bit of blood. Her vet says that a few cells from the ovaries might have escaped the surgery and have just matured enough now to be a problem. The dr. suggested we take blood now and check the hormone before she starts another cycle. The worst case scenario, he said, is
Buttercup in DOGFANCY MagazineSeptember 3rd 2008 7:55 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Hi - My 2 year old Schnauzer Buttercup is in the October Issue of DogFancy Magazine. She is on page 11 in a reader contribution page where you are asked to describe your dog in two words and submit a photo. My caption for her was "Heaven Sent" and it is a very flattering picture of my photogenic pup! She is becoming quite the superstar - she was in the June 2008 issue of Bark Magazine and the July/August 2008 issue of AKC Family Dog Magazine. I am so proud of her and thankful for her wonderful groomer!
We went swimming today!August 23rd 2008 7:31 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I am Amanda. Today we went swimming in my grandpas pool Then I saw Buttercup. She doesn't really like to go in the pool. But I made her go in anyways. We had a great time. I pushed her in and held her up. And she went on a lounge-type raft for the pool. So we put her on the lounge and me and my aunt (Buttercup's owner) were laughing. Then we put her on a little boogie board and her claws were at the top of the boogie board trying to hold on.When she's wet she looks skinny like a rat. Buttercup was really fun to play with. She's so funny when she's on a boogie board or a floatie. When we were on one side of the pool she was on the other side, out of the water, trying to get us and then she went to the side we were on and then we swam to the other side. Buttercup's beard used to be a little brown and then she got into the water and now it is completely white. Buttercup sometimes gets into trouble. When she doesn't want you to pick her up, she'll be trying to look back at you every second. Then we got out of the pool and ate dinner. We had steak. After dinner we decided that Buttercup should get a bone. So we gave her the last of the steak bone. Then she took it to the backyard and buried it. She also has different clothes. She has a lifejacket and sweaters and booties, too. I love Buttercup. Amanda, Age 9.

Buttercup is very sick!April 8th 2007 8:26 am[ Leave A Comment ] On April 7, Buttercup was running around and then all of a sudden looked like she was going to pass out and her legs were going out under her. I rushed her to the hospital and the vet doesn't know what it is but they're keeping her there until Monday. No Happy Easter for me! If you know of anyone who has heard of anything like this, please let me know. I am totally heartbroken. Love - Sharon
Amanda's comments on ButtercupDecember 31st 2006 9:13 am[ Leave A Comment ] Buttercup is my aunt Sharon's schnauzer. When I stay at Sharon's house, Buttercup wakes me up by licking my face and scratching me. If we're not awake she will wake us up. Buttercup got an outfit for Christmas. She wore a very cute black and white sweater. She barks at animals alot, and other dogs. Not to be mean, just to play. When somebody lets her out, we cannnot get her back in. She thinks its a game when it come to outside. Unless you have a leash on her. She is a very pretty girl and she's a little bit white and a little bit black. In the pictures, you can't see that. She has a beautiful pink collar with white crystals on it. Buttercup is furry on the bottom and legs but not on the top. I love her. Amanda (age 7).
She's a runner!November 5th 2006 4:56 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Buttercup is very sweet, loving and attentive. But she has disciplinary problems - she's a runner. She thinks it's a game and she'll run into the street and when I call her name she runs faster! The other day she ran onto the train tracks in the dark!
