Arrival Story: When the family dog passed away we were coping by looking at dogs at the local SPCA. Bad idea. Little Wyatt was sitting there all cute and calm while his brother and sister were busy mauling my shoes. I picked him up and he did an adorable snuggle under my chin and he had to come home. After the SPCA did a premisis check on our house to make sure it was ok Wyatt got to come live at my parents house and has been with me since.
Bio: Wyatt is now a college pup! He's doing fairly well with the sudden change of scenery and is learning to walk calmly along the busy city streets. He is my right hand man! He is taking part in some professional training right now to get some more manners down so he quits acting like a knucklehead.

Rescue a dog, people. You'll feel great about it and we are ever so grateful to you when you do so!
So last week was pretty rough. I was at doggy daycare with ma and I got a real bad pain in my paw. I held it up for ma to notice but by the time she got there I was bleeding a lot. My broken nail had busted open again. Ma got into a bit of a panic because she couldn't stop it from bleeding. I got blood all over her shirt and all down her arm. It hurt a lot. She rushed me to see the doctor and it turns out I needed to get it surgically fixed. No good. I was at the vet for 2 days getting my surgery. I also had this bump on my head that wouldn't heal so the doctors took that off while they were fixing my toe. Ma got them to get the blood work they wanted from me while I was there too. I really didn't like it all. The staff was super duper nice to me but it was still really stressful and painful. Now I've got a missing toe nail and staples across my head. I was looking for mama a lot while I was there! I accidentally rubbed my nose raw from trying to poke out of the cage. Ouch, ouch, and double ouch is all I can say. I'm on some yucky antibiotic stuff and have to wear this dumb e-collar. Bad times.
But there is good news. All my blood work and tests are clear! I've got good everything! Liver, pancreas .. all of it! The doctors were worried but now they think I may just be a skinny dog. Told them so! We got prescribed lots of yummy fatty foods. :) And ma's been spoiling me since I've been home so I like that. I got my own fleece blanket on her bed to curl up in and some goodies from 3 Dog Bakery!
Rather hard weekend. On Friday I woke up and I felt some pain in my foot. Turns out my toenail was infected. It hurt real bad. I tried to limp around mom and show her. She noticed and saw that I had a bit of blood and pus coming out of my nail. It really hurt. :( She rushed me to the vet and she told us that it was a small crack that started on the inside and sort of exploded out. Mom felt bad for not noticing sooner. I forgive her, though! But now I gotta take these antibiotic pills. Not too fun.
In other news ... the vet appointment made ma a bit more nervous about me. I'm a skinny guy and no vet has been able to tell us why. We've done lots and lots of different tests and I've ever had to swallow lots of deworm junk to make sure its none of that. Yuck! She thinks it may be my pancreas, amongst other things, so we are trying out some pancreas meds first and then moving on to the rest. Wish me luck!
Today Zen and I got our early Christmas gifts from ma. She's leaving us to board over the holidays ( jerk ) so she felt she needed to give us our present early. Zen and I got professional doggy massages from some lady at her job. We each met her individually and got our massages done. Zen went first and did real well and loved it. I got in there and met the lady and got real excited. She was so nice and friendly so it made us feel at ease. And then it was massage time! She petted me for a long time and made me really sleepy. When it was all done Zen and I curled up in the backseat of the car and slept all the way home.
