Just some stuff

Not a lot has been going on around here, as mom and dad get ready to wind down this year. Mom did finally get the training book she ordered and is so excited to start working with us! She's also been reading, "For the love of a dog" by Patricia B. McConnell and has really been enjoying that too. She said she is going to insist that dad read it also because she wants him to be just as informed about us as she hopes to some day be. There are a ton of other books that she wants to get, but a lot of them are going to have to wait till after the move. Anyways, today I was begging her to be let out, so she let me out and right away I dashed off to the back fence. At first she was worried that there might be some strange dog there, but it ended up being the remnants of some wrapping paper, that the strong winds had blown from out of someone's trash. I sniffed it and tried pushing it some with my nose and then when the wind caught it again and sent it trailing along the fence I had to run after it! Mom thought it was the cutest thing and wishes she'd have had a camera to capture the moment. Anyways, I think she's trying to tempt me away from here to brush my teeth, so I think I'm gonna go hide! Bones and treats to everyone and hope you have a great new year!!

Egg day suprise!

I really do love egg day!! My brother and I get 1 egg three times a week and oh dog...egg day is the best!! And if egg day wasn't enough...mom and dad took us out to our favorite field and we got to run around for an hour without our leashes!! Mom took some pictures of us running but a lot of mine are blurry because mom says I'm a little speed demon! I really do love to get to run and not have that leash confining me! Dad even took a toy out there for us to play with, but there were too many great smells to really be concerned with that! Mom and dad said they'll be trying to take us there more often...just will mostly depend on how the weather is. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that when we got home...I had to have a bath!! UGH!!! It was funny too though because since we don't have snow, my brother decided mud angels would be fun! Believe me...he's really good at making mud angels! Mom is even talking about once I get a bit better with socialization and such, maybe looking into trying to get me into flyball or something like that...who know! Anyways, I better go now...I think a nice long nap is in order!

A Christmas Eve Incident

So last night, mom and dad took us over to their friends' house to celebrate Christmas Eve with them. It was okay at first, but then(much to mom's dismay and even after mom had been talking about it) the lady started teasing me and getting me to bark and lunge at her. Mom was kinda in shock and didn't know what to say because she'd just been telling her that she thinks I might have a fear aggresion problem and here was her friend trying to scare me and laughing about it. Let me tell you...mom was so mad!! She was ready to leave right then, but dad(who'd just come back from grabbing something from our house) convinced her to stay. Thankfully, the lady left me alone after that, but I spent the rest of the night staring out the window and mom felt so badly for me. We were supposed to go over there for Christmas dinner today, but mom said she was still mad and refuses to go over where someone intentionally set out to make me upset and scare me(and it did). Mom says I already have enough problems with people as it is....that she doesn't want me to get worse because someone set out to intentionally tease me like that. Mom's decided that from now on my brother and I won't be going back over there and when she herself is there, it won't be for as long, because she'd rather be with us. Thankfully, we're moving in about a month so I won't ever have to get teased like that again!

So mom, has been trying to create a set schedule for us concerning our walks and our food. We've really been enjoying getting the regular walks(yeah mom was bad about this before:( bad mommy!!) and have hated not getting out because of the icy rain that has hit us. Mom says that will be one of the good things about moving to Corpus Christi...it shouldn't be as cold and there shouldn't be hardly any snow or ice! Mom has also been feeling a bit guilty lately though...this is going to sound terrible, and she realizes she has made some major mistakes, but we aren't anywhere near as trained with even the basics as we should be. She and dad have always loved us, but it just never just hit home enough that we needed the training...till lately. She's hoping that she hasn't waited to long and has determined to do her best to help us. She wants us to be welcomed and accepted anywhere we go and has decided to start looking into a behaviorist to help her better understand what to do(on top of the work she is going to start doing with us at home). She has a dream of someday both of us being able to be canine good citizens...though she knows that is far off and very distant...it is a good goal to reach for. So that is mom's guility secret...she knows it isn't a nice one and she really is trying to change things for the better. She does love us very, very much! So hopefully, none of you will look down too harshly at mom.

Yummy egg!!

So yesterday, mom gave my brother and I our first raw egg! She was a bit leary about it at first and not sure how well we would like it, but let me tell you it was so yummy that mom said she'd never seen our bowls so clean after a meal! Which means that now, mom is going to be giving us an egg three times a week to help with our coat and skin and I have a feeling we are so going to enjoy that!! Anyways, I do feel a bit bad for a friend of mom and dad's. They have a human little girl and she's had to be in the hospital because she's gotten sick. Mom and dad have been watching her older sister and twin brother and we've been helping too. Last night when the two kids were in bed, I kept going upstairs to check on them and escorted mom everytime she checked on them. I even nudged the little boy a bit to make sure he was okay and mom thought that was really cute and sweet. I hope my little friend will get better soon because I do like her(she tends to drop bits of yummy stuff on the floor when we visit). Well pups, that's all for now...I need to go get ready for a walk...bones and treats to you all!

I love giving Mom a hard time!

Well, I've been doing pretty well with my eating(I was just giving mom a hard time), but mom has decided to go ahead and start switching me over to the Evo that my brother eats. She would rather I be on grain free anyways, and only got me onto California Natural because I was doing one of my refusing to eat phases. Another reason she's thinking about it is because when my brother went to the vet today his coat and skin were in great shape and I've been having some trouble with my skin...mom hopes that the extra protein in the Evo will help. She's going to get some transitional digestive stuff tomorrow when she goes Christmas shopping, just so I'll have an easier transition. She's still going to see though if I'll take some fish oil because that can help my skin too. Mom says she's going to give brother and me our first raw eggs today and see if we'll eat them. She's a bit nervous about it being raw...but from the reading up she's been doing it should be okay. I know I like eggs scrambled so....we'll see about raw. Anyways, I guess I'm off to go get ready for our walk...Did I mention mom fell this morning on our first one??Scraped her hands up good! She should really learn to walk , I think BOL!

Mom is really, really frustrated right now. This morning I am back to refusing to eat my food(and it isn't that I'm not hungry), I just don't seem to care to eat. Mom says she's at her wits end about what to do and is more than likely going to end up taking me back to the vet to try and find out why I am doing this. She worries so much about me and wants me to be happy and healthy. She's just beside herself here and in tears even as she writes this for me. So if ya'll could, please all my pup pals, send out your thoughts and prayers that we can get this figured out!

Well, I have to say that I've been giving my mom a bit of a time lately. I had to go to the vet the other day and that morning I stopped eating my food and I refused to eat it for the next couple of days. So, my dad went to Pabby's and got me a new bag of food and some more wet food(different flavors than I had been having) and now I'm back to eating it all up! Mom is so relieved and wonders if maybe my old bag had gone bad or something. She's supposed to start adding fish oil to my food to help with my dry skin, but she says she wants to wait a couple of days to make sure that I am steadily eating again. I do have to start watching a bit more how much I eat though because I was a pound overweight. Mom says that she's determined though to help my brother and I lose the weight we both need to. I especially have to be careful because my back legs pop in and out of socket and Mom says she doesn't want any undue stress put on my joints. Well, I think i'm off to go find one of my toys and pester my brother with it...Have a good one everyone!

A check-up at the vet

Well, I ended up having to go to the vet today. Momma had noticed that I seemed to be losing a bit more fur than she thought I should be, but thankfully, it only turned out to be caused by dry skin. So, she's going to have to start giving me fish oil with my food. Don't know how well I'm gonna like that or not. Also found out that I am now about a pound overweight so Momma is determined that she's going to do her best to start helping my brother and I to lose the extra weight. Anyways, other than that things have been going okay for us. Momma is almost fully recovered from having her surgery at Thanksgiving and she is really looking forward to getting to go back to work. She says that she misses working at Pabby's and getting to see all the other doggie friends that she's made. Well anyways, I think I'm off to play with my brother...Happy Howlidays everyone!
