I borrowed the title from a CD someone gave Dad once as a joke. Anyway, that's what we've got going on this month. Mom took Grace and Leo and Percy the foster Yorkie with her and went to NC to do some stuff. So me and dad and The Boy have been on our own for a while. I wish someone would run the vacuum so I could chase it but so far, no luck. On the plus side, life without Leo is lovely. Maybe he'll be eaten by a shark - here's hoping! I want mom and Grace to come back someday though. They're both pretty ornery; I doubt a shark could take them. Meanwhile it's like a boy and small dog paradise here. Take out Pizza, Wii, and maxing and relaxing. Or that's what I'm doing anyway. I lent Percy my Doggles. I hope he brings them back.

Trail Dog

That's me! I like to hike and I almost never let Daddy carry me, though occasionally he insists and I don't want to hurt his feelings so I go along with it, even though I certainly don't NEED to be carried. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. This weekend we went to the Red River Gorge. There were lots of cliffs and things but I kept everyone away from the edges. Well, except Leo; I told him to get as close as he wanted.

There were lots of good smells and leaves to rustle in. Mom says we only hiked 6 or 7 miles but I think it was closer to 25. Each of my legs is only about 3 inches long, so maybe it seemed like more. But I hung in there really well especially considering how much energy I burned running all over everything while Mom and Dad were getting ready to go. Mom says I'm tough. You know it! The Sheptards insisted on leading most of the time. Renny and I walked behind them and whispered about how annoying they are. Periodically mom would turn around and yell at Dad for "letting" us pull. What-ev-er, lady. Renny and I are training as sled dogs and dad seemed like maybe he could use our help on some of those hills. MUSH!

This weekend Mom and Dad and The Boy decided to take a "fun family outing" to see where they're building a house for a show that The Boy likes to watch. I kind of like it myself; there's a lot of banging and crashing, which I enjoy, and I am a lot like the host - hey! I need a bullhorn!!! That is something to ask Mom about later...

So anyway, we went off to do that. It was pretty fun. Pixie got carsick along the way and that was gross. The Mom kept telling me not to squash Pixie because she didn't feel good. Whatever mom; it's my lap yo.

Dad was pretty successful in keeping people from petting me. I nearly got to take out some of my frustration on this one kid but mom noticed just in time - denied. We didn't see Ty Pennington but one of the designers came out and patted Pixie. She wanted to pat me but Dad smoothed that over by turning around suddenly. Denied again.

Then we went for a walk and I showed Pixie how to leap through the leaves like a dolphin. She did pretty well for a newbie. On the ride home we stopped at a fast food restaurant and mom shared some of her hushpuppies with Pixie and me. I really think from the name we should have gotten all of them but mom's kind of greedy about stuff like that.

The funnest game of all

Mom really needs to get her act together and figure out how to work the new video camera because Pixie and I have invented a new game that we think is ready for prime time. Pixie and I are back together by the way. Toby Poodle Pants left to go live with new people and a Shih Tzu. He's moved on. So now Pixie is back to remembering that I'm the coolest and we're having fun.

We call our new game "Rabid Bunny Rabbits." The way you play is to jump and leap all over the bed snarling; it is fun! Unfortunately midway through a particularly good part of the routine, our party was crashed and we had to stop to remind certain people that this is a game for small pointy eared dogs. We don't need any giant lop eared "rabbits" *cough* Renny *cough*.

Pixie or Tricky?

I'm starting to think my girlfriend is up to something. For one thing, she spends a lot of time trying to play with Toby the foster Poodle. That would be ok and all, I'm not a jealous guy, but sometimes they run around right through areas that I'm using for MY Run Around Time. This is something I do in the evenings and I do not appreciate interlopers interfering. Then after 2 months of behaving herself beautifully and not wanting mom to touch her, Pixie suddently decided last night that maybe mom was ok and she should give her some licks on her hand while mom was working on the laptop. Mom was SO excited. I was like "what's the big deal? I slobber on you all the time" but mom kept giving Pixie treats and was all happy. Finally I had to stand right on the keyboard to remind her that I am the cutest dog and all other cute dogs bow before me. That set her straight. Maybe she was just tired and not thinking clearly. I've got my eye on Pixie now though. Plus, Pixie does her "doggy business" on a pad in the bedroom not in the yard with the rest of us. GROSSOUT. I'm not sure if I can be with someone like that. If mom doesn't put pictures up soon, I'm just going to say no.

I have a girlfriend

Well, she thinks she's my girlfriend. She follows me around everywhere and whines to let me know how cool she thinks I am. You know it baby! Sometimes I let her play with my dino cuz; it's not my favorite so I don't mind sharing a little bit. But only a LITTLE bit. After she's had it long enough I growl to let her know it's mine. My girlfriend's name is Pixie. She looks a lot like me but she's black and even smaller than I am. I am a strapping young man of at least 6lbs, Pixie is more like 3.5. Mom said that Pixie came from a puppy mill where she lived in a cage and made babies and that's why she's afraid of people. Pixie won't let people touch her but she likes to play with me. I don't know about this sob story stuff - I think Pixie just shows better judgement than most dogs: I am cool, and those are MY people so stay away from them. I might let her be my girlfriend after all. Dad just got us Dogster Plus so maybe I'll let Pixie post a few pictures.

Just a Shout Out to my Peeps

Hey, I just wanted to say "Viva Chiwa" to my homegirl Onyx who used to live here before she got adopted and went to live large with mom's sister in law's sister (mom had to draw me a diagram to explain that one!). I also wanted to give a big "Grr" to my (and Ony's) cousin Jenkins. Ony says Jenkins is cool but I have my doubts. That dude barks a lot, and not in a cute ChiWa way.

Returns of the Day

Today is My Birthday Observed. The weather is much improved over yesterday and I've spent some quality time in the yard barking at things. Max next door needs to be barked at a lot. Other fun stuff that happened today was watching the foster Poodles get covered in mud. They got these little balls of dirt on their feet and could only mince around in place. It was hilarious! ChiWas don't have these problems. Viva ChiWa! I myself have the perfect coat - wash and wear, never muddy, but warm enough that I don't have to wear stupid sweaters like my foster brother Perico. My mom doesn't always realize this and occasionally buys me clothes anyway. This is very frustrating. When she puts them on me, my superpowers are neutralized and I must freeze in position until they are removed. This takes valuable time that would be better spent running around. Thankfully I didn't get any clothes for my birthday. I DID get a dino tiny cuz and a small hedgehog. I'm pretty sure mom actually bought those a while back but she found them today and gave them to me, so it's almost as good. She got us a squeaky banana and strawberry but they're pretty stupid looking so I'm going to let the fosters have them. I go for the classics... nothing says "good time" like an old yellow Cuz.

On Turning Four

Today is my birthday. Well, no one really knows when my birthday is (and I'm not telling it) but mom and dad thought it would be funny to make it Cinco de Mayo, so there you go. So far it blows. It's raining and no one would carry me out in the yard. Plus you know what rain plus German Shepherds means? Mud! Mud isn't so bad (German Shepherds are though) but mud can mean Bath and that is NO way to treat someone on his birthday. Plus post bath my hair gets puffy and mom and dad call me a "woolly worm." Not funny.
