Barking- I'm listening for every sound and I'm going to protect you.
High, shrill bark-Something strange is going on, and it's scaring me.
Deep, growly bark- I'm brave and protecting my home.
Non-stop barking-I'm so bored and lonely. Come play with me!
Yelping-Ouch, ouch! Something's hurting me!
Whining-I'm upset and I need a hug.
Squealing-Wow, am I happy! Or, I am pleasantly surprised.
Howling-Oh, I'm very very lonely. I need you now. Or...I'm so sick, help me!
Howling when hearing a siren or musical instrument. Oww, that hurts my ears.
Sighing before plopping onto the bed for the night-I'm content. Good night!
Sighing after barking for a while- What's taking you so long? I'm fed up!
Growling-Go away!
Light growling, during play- I want to win!
Snarling- I am not happy with what you want to do. Get ready for a fight!
So, how much did you really know? Are you really a dog expert? If you weren't, now you are!
I will always remember October 23, 2006. It was the day when my typist found Dogster and added me on as the Excellent Eleven's First Pooch. I was experimenting, seeing what Dogster was like and if we were ready to add more dogs. My typist and I fell in love with Dogster, and soon, she sent emails to family and friends, asking for photos. Since that fateful day, dogs came right into our Dogster family.
Francis was 11 when he was added. He was the second dog and made many friends here. You were all so understanding and caring when he passed on and my typist's aunt, my typist and the Excellent Eleven were so happy to know you cared. We were the Terrific Two.
Ronan made us the Thrilling Three. He had already passed on and with the caring paws of Bambi, he got his beautiful wings. Thank you, Bambi!
Marvin turned us into the Fantastic Four. He had a long story of being rescued into the Chicago Rescue Center for St. Bernards and a large sickness history, but he was as loved here as the rest of us.
Keira, the shy little Newfoundland, made us the Funny Five. Keira helped my typist understand more about animal cruelty, since she was a rescued victim. She may be jumpy and barks a lot, but she is a great dog.
Logan became number six in the Super Six Dogster family. He was only six months old when he came in and is proud to be a Dogster. You welcomed him with open paws.
The Sweet Seven and Excellent Eight formed when my typist's Aussie friends gave her permission to make pages for their dogs, Indi and CJ. They were welcomed by the thousands of other Aussies and formed friendships easily.
When my typist's other Aussie friends let her use their Irish Setter, Banjo, from Rufus' training class, to make yet another page, we became the Knowlegeable Nine.
The final two turned us into the Terrific Ten and finally, the Excellent Eleven. My typist's aunt gave us permission to add her two Basset Hounds, Abigail(or Abby, as seen on her page) and Summit.
We've had a great time. We all love all of you on Dogster and hope to spend many more years in the pack. Woof Woof!
Love,
Rufus
Yes, that's right! In a few weeks I'm going to fly to the United States in my roomy crate. I'm going to be living with Keira and Marvin in Chicago until my owners can find a house to buy instead of rent. I can't wait to be home with my family, the dogs I get to meet and the good old USA. :-)
