ITS SNOWING!!!

I am SO excited!!! It seems like we are getting a boat load of snow where I live! I haven't seen a foot of snow since I was a puppy back in 2003!!!

Hank and Matty have never seen a huge snow storm, they are so happy and excited. Matty keeps whining and going over to Mommy, but she says she wants to wait another hour before we go out so there is alot of snow for us to romp around in!
I CAN'T WAIT!!! Uh oh, where is Mommy going? Gotta run, I think we are going outside FINALLY!!! YAY-Catch all of you dogsters later if I ever come in from outside!

Happy Birthday to me!!

Sorry I haven't had time to write but since my Mommy started her Canine Behavior and Training business I have been promoted to Vice President in Charge of Canines and Training. I do all of the clients with Mommy and I supervise all obedience training sessions. I also help all phobic dogs learn not to be afraid of things like going down stairs and getting into cars. I also help other dogs that don't seem to like dogs. It's fun and exciting and I get to hang out with Mommy all day!

I also have another job, I carry firewood onto the porch for Mommy when she is done chopping. As you can see I am living a very busy and fulfilling life! I can't believe I am 7 years old today, I still feel like and 8 week old puppy.

Here Is An Update

Sorry I haven't posted an entry. I want to let everyone know that the bumps Mommy found were removed and I am just fine.

Matty had bilateral hip surgery and our house has been turned upside down. Mommy and Daddy moved the coffee table out of the living room and replaced it with a big air mattress for Matty to lay on since he can't walk. The vet wanted him kenneled 24/7 but Mommy and Daddy felt that would not be good for the pack dynamics if Matty were isolated.
No one sleeps here anymore as a result, since Matty is not being kenneled he has to be watched all the time. Mommy and Daddy sleep in shifts and Grandma came up to help take care of him.

I feel bad for him, I am afraid to go near him because I am afraid I will hurt him. He cries for me to come over but I don't want to, not yet. I told Mommy and Daddy that when I feel he is OK enough I will interact with him. Matty gets cranky and snaps at Hank and me if we come near any of his toys or bones. It's OK for now, I understand but when he is back on his feet he better knock it off.

I also feel bad for Hank-at least I get to do clients with Mommy, but Hank has to stay put in the house. He says he feels ignored and he is upset. I don't blame him, but until Matty can walk on his own I am afraid this is the way it has to be for now.

Back to the Vet

I went back to the vet on Monday, Mommy found some bumps on the area where I was shaved when I was spayed.
We really thought it was nothing but wanted it to be looked at to be on the safe side. The doctor said we should take them out.

I am not happy, I have to go in the day before Matty has his surgery on March 4th. I wanted to be strong for him, and Mommy found a third bump on me last night.
I know Mommy & Daddy are a little nervous about this. My Aunt Chris had bumps in her chest too. I know I will be fine, humans worry alot more than us dogs do.

Mommy says she needs me to be OK, she loves me and says I am her best demo dog. Matty will be out of commission for a while, and Hank is not great with dogs he doesn't know.

I will be OK, I know I will and Matty will too!

I AM NOT A HAPPY DOG!

Today I went to the vet office that I ALWAYS get to hang out at while Mommy & Daddy do group obedience classes or puppy classes. I went into the back by the kennels like I always do when I wander back there by myself.

This time was different. I was put in a big kennel and given a blanket. I thought "Whats this all about?"

Then Mommy and Daddy LEFT!!! OMG I started to cry and cry. At least everyone there made me feel better. The staff knows me really well and stayed with me so I wouldn't be upset and frightened.

I was spayed today and had a cyst taken out of my left ear. OWWWW it hurts!!!!!!
Mommy and Daddy picked me up this afternoon and I was SO relieved to get home.

You may ask why wa I spayed now at 5 years old? Well it was because both of the boys, Hank & Matty can't father my puppies. Mommy & Daddy figured someone was trying to tell them not to breed me, and decided to do this. You know something? They were right, turns out I had a big cyst on my ovary and probably couldn't have had puppies anyway. it's for the best and to think I won't have to wear those stupid Big Girl Pants anymore when I am in heat, or have the boys harrassing me.
I couldn't find a spot for myself , so I went on the couch next to Hank and asked if I could lay my head on his back. He said "Of course you can.............." he can be sweet when he isn't acting like a brat. I layed on him for an hour and rested.
Matty was sweet too, he was a little upset at how woozy I was, he licked my face relentlessly. I told him I was OK and to stop being a nudge and he stopped.

I am laying next to my Mommy dictating this diary entry, but I am a little sleepy now so I will write another day and let everyone know how I am doing.

In other news poor Ginger got sprayed by a skunk-sorry Gingy, that must feel awful I know how you like to be clean.

I am going in to the vet tomorrow to get spayed, in a way I am not sorry I hate when I go into heat and have to wear those terrible diapers.

I Am 5 Years Old Today!

Today is my 5th birthday, it's been birthday day week at our house because Matty was year old on February 5th.

I am having a nice birthday, and we are getting a steak dinner later. I got a ton of nice toys! I did have a HUGE fight with Hank last night. He ended up with his paw cut, and I have a big gash on my pretty face.

Hank apologized and we are friends again but I am going to have a nice scar on my muzzle.

I can't wait until after dinner, I have a brand new toy to play with. We got toys all week - we got stuffed ducks that quack, and stuffed animals, and pup-tread tires and now I got this new glow in the dark bone like thing. I just wish it wasn't so muddy out so I can play frisbee. Mommy is afraid I will slip on the mud and get hurt because I have done that once before.

Daddy and Mommy put their heads together and are creating a Kong aparatus that will have weights for me to pull. Sounds interesting........................

I Did A Lecture Tonight!!!

Oh boy did I have fun this evening!!! My Mommy was asked to do a lecture at our local library on canine behavior and obedience training, and she chose me to be the star of the show!!!! Hank and Matty were pissed but I told them I am the Alpha Queen and it was too bad!

I got to lay next to Mommy while she spoke, and I got to show all of the people there how great I listen to Mommy! Then I got lots of pets and attention from all of the people and all of the kids that were there. I also got loaded up with dog cookies from of the people that wanted to meet me afterwards and give me treats.

Mommy & Daddy were so proud of me and that made me the happiest! I love working with Mommy and Daddy! What fun I hope I get to lecture again soon!

My Matty

Well - I lost a husband and gained a brother. After my last heat Mommy & Daddy decided to have Matty's hips pre-certified just in case we had any happy accidents.
It's a good thing we didn't because not only are his hips not good enough to have puppies - but they arent good enough for him to be able to walk.
He has bilateral hip dysplasia and within a year he would no longer be able to walk unless something was done.

Mommy & Daddy are going to have a specialist operate on his hips in the spring-after a long recoup period he will be able to run and play again normally.

I am so glad, I may never get married and have puppies but I will love having Matty around to play with Hank & me.

YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!

We had such a yummy Thanks-Give-Me Dinner- Aged Prime Rib!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh My Lord it tasted so fantastic!!!! It was a doggie's dream meal!

All three of us had some!!! It was better than a turkey!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish Ginger could have had some, but we sent her over some yummy things that I picked out myself this afternoon with Mommy, Daddy & Matty.

Mommy came back from Aunt Kimi & Uncle Nick's early because she felt so bad that us and Daddy had to sit home alone.

Daddy couldn't go out so he couldn't go over with Mommy. Hank was upset that Mommy got to see Kallie and he didn't.
