Sweet ChiChi

My sweet ChiChi girl left for the Rainbow Bridge tonight. She developed an autoimmune disease and things went downhill fast.

ChiChi, you were such a sweet girl and you were always there to comfort me. You always put your head on my thigh when I would cry. I don't know who will comfort me now. 8 1/2 years together... things are going to be so strange here without you. I know I will see you again someday, but there will be a big whole in my heart until then. I love you!

I found out what a baby is....unfortunately.

Apparently, a baby is a tiny version of mommy and daddy that cries a LOT. Cries, and smells. And has no control over its arms and legs, which is bad if you happen to be in the line of fire. But I still love my baby brother. I like to lick the top of his head, and I check in on him often while he's sleeping, especially at night, to make sure he is safe and sound. I like him best while he's sleeping, because he's quiet then! I am a little sad because I don't get as much attention as I used to and now I have to share my spot on the sofa with him, but mommy says once he's older I'll like him even more and he and I will be best friends!

What is a baby?

Mom & Dad keep talking about something called a baby and how there's going to be here in May. I'm not sure what a baby is, but I'm not too thrilled about something else vying for Mom & Dad's attention. I should get all of their attention, all the time.

In good news, Mom's belly is getting kinda round. It's SO much easier to lay my head on her belly now. It's the perfect curve for my neck. Hope this "baby" thing doesn't think it's going to take over my spot!

I'm gonna be a star!!!!!!!!!

About a year ago, Daddy shot a story about pet evacuation and I starred in it. I had completely forgotten about.... UNTIL Daddy came home from work today. He said someone called him needing an evacuation video for a news story in San Antonio. AND HE SENT THEM MY VIDEO!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited! I'm gonna be on the news in San Antonio. That's a big city! I only wish we could get the San Antonio stations here so we could watch it! :)

New Pictures

Mommy finally put some different pictures of me on my page. My main image is me with my pretty pink doggie scarf that Daddy knit just for me! I feel so special. There is also a picture of me with my Grandpa and Great-Grandma at my 3rd birthday party. This was just 3 months before Grandpa went to the human version of the Rainbow Bridge. :( I miss Grandpa a lot! There are also pictures of me with my MASH t-shirt that Mommy bought me so that we could dress alike. The doggie in one of the pictures with me was a neighbor of mine at the place Mommy & I shared before she & Daddy got married. I seem to get along with other doggies better through fences! Mommy didn't want to put up the picture of her & me together, because she's wearing glasses & she never likes any pictures of her, but I told her that we have so few pictures together that we needed to put one up. And I like that one. :)

Looks like I'm feeling better! The medicine is working. The funny thing is, mommy lost her voice last night! She can't tell me "No" or anything. hehe But daddy took her to the doctor this morning & she got some pills, so it should come back in a few days. I'm gonna live it up while I can!

It was a bad week for the most part...

Everything started going bad last Wednesday. Mommy took me to the vet & left me allllll day long! They gave me my yearly shots & exam (I do NOT like that heartworm test!). THEN, mom & dad started packing. Thursday morning they stuck me in my crate & we went on a very long car ride, all the way to Oklahoma. NINE hours in the car! But the good part is that when we got there I got to see my Grandma Janith and play in her beautiful yard! She has soooo many things to sniff. But Grandma Janith wouldn't let me get on her furniture, and I really wanted to be on her sofa! It was so nice Thursday evening, but then on Friday my human cousins came. Two little boys, ages 3 and 5. They have way, WAY too much energy for me! They make me nervous. But then my Grandma Linda came all the way from Tulsa to Cheyenne to see me, so that almost made up for it. I also got in trouble from trying to drink from Grandma Janith's pond. Mommy said the water wasn't good for me to drink. I don't know if it had anything to do with that or not, but I started licking a place I shouldn't have. By the time Mommy, Daddy & I got home on Sunday, I was all red & swollen! It hurt to pee or even to walk much. So Daddy took me to the vet Monday (Mommy had a really bad sore throat, so she had to go to the doctor too, and our appointments we at the same time, so she couldn't go with me). Now I have another pill to take every day for a few days and Mommy has to put some cream on me down there, even though I STRONGLY protest it every time. It not only hurts, it is humiliating! But it does seem to be helping.... Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be as good as new!

TRAUMA!

Mom & Dad took me for a walk Saturday. Only it was all a trick. They walked me right to the vet's office! The vet tech lady started trimming my nails and when she got to my dew claws, I let her know I wasn't happy about that. And (I can't believe this happened! I feel so betrayed...) Mommy & Daddy let her take me to a different room to muzzle me & finish clipping them! They also stuck me with a big needle & put a "microchip" under my skin. That wasn't so bad. But when they trimmed my back claws, they only cut 2 of them because they both started bleeding pretty badly! It really, really hurt. Mom & Dad could hear me all the way down the hall in the exam room. But the good thing about going to the vet is that now I get peanut butter twice a day. Just a little bit, but a little is better than none at all! They are hiding a pill in it, I know, but I don't really care. It's still yummy! The vet told them to give me Benedryl, and I won't eat that pill without peanut butter. But they make me so groggy. Mom's supposed to give me 3 a day, but decided that seemed like way too much since she can't even stand taking 1 a day herself. So she's just giving me 2. Fine by me!
