Abby is a Kelpie, this breed is not recognised by the AKC yet so it is not on the list of choices.Abby is a rescue dog from Pioneer Humane Society, she had been lost in the mountains and was thin and hungry when found, she also had some serious cuts. Pioneer Humane Society had done a great job with her, she was well fed and she was spade and current on her shots when we adopted her. She made great eye contact when I first saw her, and still communicates with her eyes all the time.
Abby bonded immeadiatly and became my constant companion. Abby rides well in the car and heels well, she is very obedient, and wants to please. Abby is a gentle animal, and very polite. She is great with kids, people in general and other animals, but she does herd the cats. She goes everywhere with me, and is the full-time greeter at my partners store.
Abby is extremely quiet, she will go for days without barking, she does sigh and groan when she cuddles. She sleeps on the bed, prances when we walk, runs like a gazelle, and poses when anyone admires her.
She is cautious around strangers until she knows them and likes to keep me between her and any new experience. Abby is very attentive and watches everything, she anticipates well and enjoys being praised.
This dog weighs in at 43 pounds and has a nice muscular build, she is sturdy enough to play hard with the kids and still small enough to pick up and carry if her feet are dirty.
Abby is a happy girl and brings us a great deal of pleasure.
take me with you !!

Abby is a blessing to us, she is with either myself, my partner, or both of us constantly. This dog is never more than a few feet away from us, and she enjoys both eye contact and physical contact. Abby is a great listener and has an expressive face and eyes, she is also good with a quick lick or kiss. Her Cattle Dog heritage gives her a true smile that she shares with us many times a day.
Abby's coloring and attractive conformation make her a great conversation starter, she is admirered everywhere we go and enjoys being looked at and talked to by strangers. She reads people well and never seems to overstep their boundaries. If the stranger is cautious the Abster will remain quite reserved, but if the new person is outgoing and has a "dog person" aura then she will reward them with plenty of attention. When the conversation is over, Abby says a polite good-bye and we all go on our way, ready for the next adventure.
This is the first rescue dog we have had in our lives, but she is God sent and is preparing us for the rewards of adopting homeless quadrapeds in the future.
Thank you, Abby, for the love you give to us everyday.
