Favorite Toy: Anything his sister Callisto has.
Favorite Food: Anything broken up into small pieces since he is so delicate! HA!
Favorite Walk: Anywhere his mom and sisters go. The beach where he can run and swim to his heart's delight, AND make sure all the other dogs know he's boss.
Best Tricks: Bang! Speak, take a bow, sit up.
Arrival Story: Went to the animal shelter 10 1/2 years ago and saw the cutest, most unique dog I'd ever seen or probably will ever see. I knew he was gonna be trouble, but my little boy is worth it! Look at his eyes!
Bio: Oliver is the Tramp of real life. A street dog turned into a prince. So smart and so mischievious. He's a great dog and so much fun, but definitely has his own mind. He loves to lick people, especially kids, right in the face and will do it for as long as anyone lets him. He's a bit aloof when we're out somewhere he's off-leash (has to keep his eye out for anything else to get in trouble with) but at home, he'll crawl into your lap, play with you (making these weird noises!) and be such a sweetheart. He adores and idolizes his big sister Callisto (who kicks his butt constantly) and picks on little sister Hudson. Other dogs really think he's cool, so he has this "i will prove i'm the best" attitude at first, but he's over it in seconds, and then loves to play, always has . (Oh--EXCEPT with unneutered dogs. Hates them on smell and for some unknown unfortunate reason they are drawn to him)! He loves to spaz out in the wet grass or on the beach, as cute as can be, then laying his whole body and head flat, only his eyes looking up at you! He will swim in anything. He's my shadow at home. Oliver has so much personality, you'd have to be around him to understand this crazy boy!
7/5/08 oliver lost his older sister callisto last year and has now become leader of the pack just like she was. at 11 yrs old mom is paranoid, especially because he goes through weird not eating phases, but this dog is in such good shape even the vets are wowed. he has changed physically so much since i got hime, which is so cool. he still acts like a 2 year old, attitude and all. he's my light, brings so much joy and life into my place.
Oliver just passed away on April 9, 2009...I think he was just 12 years old. He had congestive heart failure and inflammatory bowel disease but that didn't slow him down. That thursday he started shaking and had a huge fever. Turns out he had a perforated abdomen. There was nothing I could do. It was either from a foreign object, or more likely a tumor has ruptured through the wall of his abdomen. It was so sudden and shocking and he'd been acting like a puppy the day before. I am heartbroken. He was my boy and my best friend and came with me everywhere for over 11 years. I will never forget that face and how he appreciated every moment. There will never be another dog like him and I'm glad he went fast because he wouldn't have liked getting older and sicker and watching me have to leave him behind. Maybe it was a blessing. I'm so sad
