I'm the Baby!

I have only been in my new family for 2 months. I am 4 months old tomorrow. My momma and daddy brought me home so my sister Penny could have someone to play with and to love. You see, Penny lost her big sister Daisy, and her husband Rooty , just 5 weeks apart this past summer and she was very sad and lonely. I have lots of fun playing with Penny and she is teaching me how to be a good girl. She is helping me learn not to chew on the wrong things and how to go potty outside. Going potty outside makes my momma very happy, but sometimes it's just too cold and wet out there so I sneak upstairs and go in the hallway. This makes my momma mad so I will have to try harder to remember to go outside.
Some of the things I like are Penny and Penny's food. I love our kitty friend, Rosie. She is big and soft and she is lots of fun to play with. I love greenies and cookies. I love my plush tweeting bird and my nylabone. I really love my momma alot. I like to sleep under the covers with her and Penny.
Some of the things I don't like are rain and big scarey dogs. I like men, but at first I am a little bit afraid of them. They sound loud and scarey, not like my momma. I can't think of too many other things that I don't like. I am pretty happy and excited most of the time except when I have to go to the doctor and get a shot. Ouch! Those hurt! Oh! I forgot to tell you that I love rocks, too! I'm even in a group called "I love rocks!"
I am having lots of fun on Dogster. Penny and I are making lots of new friends. That's about it about me. I will write again soon! Zelda

A Trip to the Doctor

Today I went back to the doctor and got my 3rd and finally puppy shot! I didn't even cry or wiggle! There were lots of huge doggies there! I wasn't even scared of them! I wanted to play but it seems like none of them wanted to. One big Mastiff doggie was afraid of ME! I finally found a doggie that wanted to play with me but after a minute , Momma made us stop. She said we were starting a riot.( whatever that is...) So, now I am all done with my puppy shots ! - Zelda

I'm a zebra!

Momma didn't have time to help me write yesterday, so I'll tell you this today. Ratty's mom turned me into a zebra for the safari! The safari is over now, but maybe start again later! I am so happy to have such nice friends like Ratty and his momma! - Zelda

Scratch, scratch, itch, itch!

I'm tired of bein' ITCHY!!! Some of my pals have been tryin' to help me figger out what's wrong and they gave me some good ideas. Momma is trying a couple things to see if it helps. First, we're tryin' salmon treats. Strider told me that might help if it's dry skin. We know it isn't fleas cuz I have Frontline+ on my neck and so does Penny . There are no fleas here or on us. If the salmon doesn't help, we are gonna try switchin' food.

What the heck is Halloween?!

Momma took Penny and me shopping today and we tried on about a million funny outfits. Momma says it's for Halloween, whatever that is! All I know is it took a long time to try on all those suits and I got tired and hungry and I had to go potty! Penny gets to be a princess, but I am going to be a wizard cuz the princess hat was too big for my teeny little head. Oh well. Wizards are pretty cool and they are really, really smart- just like ME!!! Halloween sounds like fun! In a couple days , I'll put on my wizard suit and show all my dogster pals. I hafta go potty now! A wonderful, new feeling!

I've been feeling a bit strange this past week or so. My mommy wonders what is wrong with me. I cannot concentrate when she tries to teach me new things. My sister, Penny, can't figure out why lately I am wandering around, just being soooo happy with a far-off look in my eye. My daddy has been feeling a little left out, like he isn't as important as he always has been (of course he is, though!) to me.
I'm not sure I really understand, myself, what has come over me.
I met a very handsome Chi- boy named Kiko and it seems that I am thinking of him every single minute of every single day! When I sleep at night, my happy dreams are filled with my sweet beau, Kiko!
Dear Diary, I do believe that I have fallen into that very special and wonderful thing called 'love' !
I can only hope that my sweet, darling Kiko feels the same about me. Oh, how can I tell, dear diary? Could such a wonderful boy love me back, the way I love him? I will just wait and long for the day when I hear him say those 3 precious words to me - "I love you".*sigh*

I think I must be just about the luckiest doggie in the entire universe! Here I am in my nice, warm furever home- with my nice Mommy and Daddy and brother and sister kitty and Penny. I have all the things that a pup could ever want or need to be happy and safe- plus a whole lot more! I have about a millon hundred toys ! Mommy always makes sure that Penny and I have plenty of good dog food and a variety of treats to choose from. I have a sweater and a raincoat and a hat to keep me warm and dry when I have to go

outside to potty. (though I'd still rather sneak upstairs and potty in the hallway!)
There is one more thing that I am very, VERY thankful fur, and that is fur all of my beautiful, fun, crazy, silly, sweet, loving friends on Dogster!!! It makes me so happy inside to know that there are soooooo many nice pups and their mommies and daddies that care about all of the other pups of the world! Not all doggies have it so good. Some pups don't even have a furever home. Some pups have a furever home where they are scared and hungry and cold and unloved. This makes my heart sad. I am always soooo happy when I hear of a sad doggy that finds himself ( or herself, of course!) a nice new furever home where he can be happy and loved and feel safe and warm. Just like my friend Beatrix. She has just about the nicest and bestest mommy and furever home NOW. I really love her alot.
I also have a whooooole lot of other friends here on Dogster who love me and are sooooooooooo nice to me! I am really glad that Mommy found Dogster fur us. When I had to have my little "girlie" operation all of my friends showed me and Mommy how much they care by checking on me and trying to help us to not be scared. I wish they all knew how much their caring and concern means to us.
So, on this Thanksgiving, I want to woof to all of my very nice friends how much I love them and let them know of the joy that they bring into my puppydog life - and also the happiness that they and their mommies and daddies bring to my mommy.
We hope that you all have a very happy and safe Thanksgiving with lots of your loved ones near you. And Mommies and Daddies - don't forget to give lots of turkey to your pups and kitties!! Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Please Don't Let This Happen To You!

Dear Diary,
About a week ago, I went through a very scarey ordeal which I would like to warn all of my furfriends about....
Mommy was out shopping. She left us pups home ,*bad Mommy!* in the care of our daddy.We love Daddy lots, but we REALLY love to go bye-bye in the car!
Anyway, Daddy was upstairs, watching television. I am banned from going upstairs. There is a certain hallway up there that is just perfect for going potty in! However; I digress!
Daddy was upstairs, watching television, when he thought he heard a strange sound. He thought maybe a baby was crying, or that kitty Rosie was growling or something. Then Daddy heard Penny begin to bark. So, Daddy went downstairs to investigate.
That is when he found me all tangled up in one of those awful, plastic grocery bags! I had gotten my head through the hole of one of the handles and , in my struggle to remove it, I had twisted the bag around and around until it was soooo tight on my neck that I was choking! I was choking soooo bad that I could only make a terrible high-pitched screaming sound!
Now, Penny, my sister, is always very good about scolding me if I am getting into trouble, so she started to bark at me! I'm sure she knew that I was in big trouble, but her little weiner dog paws just aren't made for untying knots!
When Daddy saw what was happening, of course, he ran to me and tried to get the bag off of my neck! It was on soooo tight that he ended up using a pair of scissors to cut it away from me! Whew!!! That was a VERY close call! I think I could actually see the Rainbow Bridge just up ahead a little ways! It seemed like a very beautiful place, but I am not quite ready to go live there just yet!
I want all of my furfriends to read this story and please be warned! Remind your pawrents and other humans to make sure those bags are put away in a secure place! My pawrents had never even considered them as a hazard! They are especially dangerous if they have stuff in them. The weight makes them twirl around and get twisted on tight.
Thank Dog for my Penny and my daddy!!! I would be barking to you from the Rainbow Bridge if it weren't for them!

My Kitty Sister is Sick!

Well Diary, I am excited to begin this new year, but I am awfully worried about my kitty sister, Rosie. See, Rosie has had a bad cough fur quite some time now. Mommy tried giving her medicine fur hair balls and even special food, but it didn't help at all. Finally, Rosie went to the doctor and he said that she has something wrong with her heart. He gave her some new medicine to take and it seemed like it was helping fur a couple of days, but now Rosie is back to coughing again. She isn't coughing as much, so Mommy says maybe we just need to adjust the dosage of the medicine. Rosie will go see the doctor again on Friday, so hopefully he will know what to do fur her.
I really, really love Rosie alot! She is sooo soft and fun to play with! She's excellent at giving me body slams, but Mommy hasn't been letting us play very much. She's worried about letting Rosie get too excited.
I hope she gets better really soon because I love her and also she is planning to be married on Valentine's Day!
Well, it's late and Mommy says I have to go to bed now. Goodnight,dear Diary.

A New Sister!

Woohooo! Mommy and Daddy went bye-bye in the car on Sunday and when they came home, we smelled PUPPY BREATH on them!!! Upon closer inspection, I noticed the scent of my pup mother and pup father, too! Then Mommy told us the grrreat, exciting news!! In two weeks, my very own, real-life, full sister will be coming home to live with us furever!!!! I am sooooo happy!!! Mommy is mad at herself fur not bringing the camera when they went to see her, but she is going to try to make a trip back again this coming weekend to see her again. She is a beautiful little girl. She isn't colored anything like me, though. In fact, she is about exactly the same color as Penny Ann! Bol! She has the cutest little brown eyebrows, just the shape of human eyebrows! OMD!!! I can hardly wait to see her and give her some puppy kisses! Then we can play and play and play........ Woohoooo! What a happy day! Now I'm a little sister AND a BIG sister! Yay!!! I wonder what her name will be???? Maybe some of our Dogster friends can make suggestions! That would be a really big help! I guess we'll find out soon enough!........*walks away, deep in thought,sweet little smile on face*
